T. J. Edmondson of the Morton Mill was here Thursday.

Born to Elmer Tucker and wife, 8 miles northwest of town, a girl, April 27th.

The family of Mrs. Sam Bowlin, 6 miles east of Jenkins has 5 cases of smallpox. Her daughter caught it at Aurora and brought it home with her. It is feared they have been scattered.

S. F. Bryson and J. F. Vanzandt of Mayflower were in this city Monday. [Also look for Van Zandt, Vansandt when searching for this family.]

Rock Springs News Items: Uncle Steven Burnett is still confined to his bed a portion of the time, from the hurt he received recently. Hope he will soon be around and as well as ever.

Rock Springs: Frank Fine was learning the art of selling patent churns. Ask Frank which he likes best selling churns or fox hunting.

Lone Elm News Items: Charley Call's baby died of smallpox last week, age about 6 weeks. They have never been quarantined but Mr. Plummer has been notified and said they have not got them, yet never has been to see.

Harrell News Items: Charley Decker steps as high as a blind horse since the arrival of an eight pound boy on the 25th. 

Harrell News Items: Bob Duncan had to run the snakes out of his corn before he could plow it.

Pasley News Items: Uncle Dock James and grand son are visiting in Oklahoma.

Fred Morrow, died. He was married to Capt. Richey's daughter.

Born to E. Marlow and lady of McDonald township, Wednesday, twin daughters. We trust they may grow to womanhood and prove a blessing to their parents in their declining years.

John Morton of Monett and Miss Clara A. Hall of Sterling, Col., were recently married. John is a son of John L. Morton, a former resident of this city.

Wm. Autry and family of this city, Mesdames J. F. Stark of Pierce City, Bert Wright of Freistatt, A. L. Brown, Henry Bradley and Chas. Beaver of this city visited Roaring River Monday and spent the day very pleasantly viewing the magnificent scenery in that vicinity.

Mano News Items: David Edie, Sr., died Wednesday of dropsy. He was the father of Wm Edie and was a good citizen. The bereaved have our sympathy.

Calvary News Items: Born to Mr. and Mrs. Harve Elsey, a girl, last week.

Pioneer News Items: Mr. Fleetwood of near Jolly will teach the school at this place next winter.

Concord News Items: Mr. Martin, who went to the Indian Territory a few weeks ago to be treated, has grown worse and sent for his wife. She stated to see him Wednesday evening.

Andrew Thomas of El Paso and Miss Carrie Clark of Simco were recently married.

Mrs. John E. Gabriel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Box died, burial Cassville Cemetery.

Purdy News Items: J. N. McClure of near town died on the 5th of cancer of stomach. He was 45? years old and left a wife and 5 children.

Pasley News Items: Vance Owings and Tom Vanzandt have returned to Joplin after an extended visit with relatives.

Thort Smith arrested and lodged in jail - seduced 16 year old girl. He was reported in jail.

Rock Springs News Items:  H. P. Edens and Jack Anderson were both in a very excited condition June 11. By inquiry it was learned that it was all on account of the arrival of a big democrat boy at each place. Well you may guess how Hiram is stepping around now. [Research Note: Cecil Anderson was born June 5, 1905.]

Golden News Items: Squire Hill was on a visit to J. L. Miller and family Sunday.

Rocky Comfort News Items: Born to John Bunch and lady, June 1, a son.

B. F. McCary was a pleasant caller, he is suffering from a fall? he received some time ago.

Walter Fogg has purchased Arthur Ruddick's store south of town, 4 miles. Walter formerly owned the store.

Jack Preston of Roaring River Mills was in town Wednesday. Jack is a practical joker. Tom Vanzandt [Van Zandt] and Charlie Sills will never forget how he treated them.

Wes Hudson was charged with killing Henry Barchman in Taney County was arrested in Little Rock, Wednesday. He will be taken to Taney County for trial.

Leonard Dobbs who was in jail charge with entering L. B. Jones' residence at Monett, escaped from jail, Tuesday evening. He was outside of the cell, tore up planks from the floor and dropped down in the vacancy between the vault and the wall and walked out of town. He was heard of going south of Washburn. Sheriff Thomas is having a series of bad luck holding his prisoners.
