It is with feelings of sorrow that we chronicle the death of our old and esteemed friend, Archibald Harrell, Monday morning, Oct 19, 1903, at the home of his brother, Wm Harrell of Liberty township, of old age, age 78 years, 8 months, and 11 days. He came to Barry County in 1839 and has resided here ever since, with the exception of 7 or 8 years, he resided in Texas. He was a member of the C. P. Church for a number of years. His remains were laid to rest Tuesday morning in the Concord Cemetery, and a large number of sorrowing relatives and friends. He enjoyed the respect and esteem of all his acquaintances. Barry County has lost a good citizen that will be sadly missed in Liberty township.

Shoal Creek News: Uncle Arch Harrell died at his brother, Willis', Monday, after an illness of seven days of pneumonia. He was 78 years old and came to this county 64 years ago and settled at what is now known as the Talbert Spring. His only son died many years ago and his wife in '97. He was a consistent member of the Baptist Church and said on Sunday morning before his death that he was ready to go and gave directions for his burial. He will be greatly missed in the community especially by the children with them he was a great favorite. Quite a large crowd attended his funeral at Concord Tuesday.
