Sidney Mixon Accidently killed
Auto Turns Over Breaking his neck;
Dies Instantly;
Remains are Brought Here.

The unexpected news arrived in this city, Tuesday, March 2, 1920, that Sidney Mixon had been killed the 1st, 3 miles of Red Folrk, Okla., where he and family have been living this winter. The news of the death first came from B. F. Van Hook of Red Fork, who formerly resided near Shell Knob to Sheriff Houston.

Another message came to Ashley Mixon a son of Sidney, from his mother conveying the same news. The mother said to wire her, it he was coming, and Ashley wired his mother he was coming and left on the evening train for Red Fork.

The facts as related in a letter to Guy Isbell of this city by Mrs. Sidney Mixon is that her husband was driving his car and in making a short turn to let some cars pass, his car turned over, breaking Sidney's neck.

Claud Frost and Burl Reed were at Tulsa, Okla., and saw the remains of Sidney Mixon and pronounced him sure dead.

Sidney Mixon had been in Oklahoma this winter, selling canned tomatoes and a can crimper and said he was coming home about March 10th, to attend Circuit Court.

He left his wife, 3 sons and 3 daughters, his father and several brothers in Texas, to mourn his death.

The remains were prepared for burial at Tulsa, Okla., and were shipped to this city where they arrived Thursday at 4 p.m. and were taken to Horine Under taking establishment, where short funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. T. Brattin, after which the remains were interred in Oak Hill Cemetery near this city. His son, Ashley and brother John Mixon of Athens, Texas, accompanied the remains here.

He leaves his wife, three daughters and three sons, father, brothers and sisters to mourn his passing.
