Earle James Dead:


Another home has been saddened by a visit from the death angel and caused a vacancy, that will be felt by a bereaved family.

Earle James son of Mr. and Mrs. Tobe James died Wednesday at their home near Eagle Rock, of pneumonia, age 18 years, 9 months and 14 days.

Loving hands did all within their power to save their boy from the grim monster, death, but his spirit took a heavenward flight, where he will be at rest.

Rev. Chas. Vanzandt conducted funeral services at the Corinth Baptist Church Thursday, after which the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery there.

A Good Woman Dies:


A good life has ended with the assurance of a happy future, where she will be free from sickness, death and sorrows, in that never ending happy land "over there".

Mrs. James Keeling died at the Keeling home west of Butterfield, Monday, April 2, from a stroke of paralysis aged 52 years, 8 months and 4 days.

She was a daughter of John and Mrs. Sarah Edens and was born August 28, 1864. On November 1, 1885 she and James M. Keeling were united in marriage and to this union were born ten children, three having died in infancy. Those surviving the mother are: Charlie, Jesse, William, Walter, Ross, Ocie and Burl Keeling, together with their father to mourn for the passing of their mother. She also has five brothers, three sisters and a host of friends and relatives who are made sad by her departure.

She was a woman of a sweet and kindly disposition, a loving wife and affectionate mother and a generous neighbor.

In early life she united with the Baptist Church and fulfilled all her Christian obligations by her daily works in life. She will be sadly missed by her family and neighbors.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday evening at New Church by Rev. Francis Goodnight after which the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery at that place. A large crowd of relatives and friends were at the funeral to pay the last tribute of love and respect to the departed.

Acea Harrell Dead:


Another splendid man and citizen of Barry County has passed to eternity, clothed with the high esteem and confidence of everybody, who had the pleasure of his acquaintance.

Acea Harrell died Monday, April 2, of pneumonia, age 71 years, leaving his family to mourn his passing.

He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Harrell early, well known and highly esteemed citizens of the western part of this county. The remains were interred April 5, in Chitwood cemetery.

An Excellent Young Mother Drops Dead


Mrs. Effie Jeffries, wife of Norris Jeffries residing 1 1/2 miles northwest of Butterfield, dropped dead at her home Wednesday at about 3 p.m. She had just returned from a visit to Purdy and in seemingly in the best of health and was only 22 years of age. She and her little babe were alone at home when the awful summons came.

Her husband Norris Jeffries is a son of Charles Jeffries of Pleasant Valley school district, and is a good citizen.

Mrs. Jeffries was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. G. Adams living on Route 3, Cassville, who in their declining years, are grief stricken on the sudden calling of their daughter.

The husband and a little son less than two years old are left to mourn the departure of a splendid wife and a loving mother.

Funeral services ere conducted Thursday at New Church northwest of Butterfield, after which the remains were interred tin the cemetery there.

Mrs. Heffley Dead


Another home has been broken by the passing of a mother whose presence was needed there, but it seems that an All Wise power sent the angel of death to summon her spirit form this troublesome, cold and cruel old world, to a world of relief, free from pain and sorrow.

Mrs. Millie Heffley, widow of the late Lee Heffley, died at her home south of this city 4 miles, Sunday morning of consumption, aged about 50 years.

She left six daughters and two sons, who are: Mesdames Stella Stewart, Mabel O'Banion, Florence James, and Misses Virgie, Jennie and Laverne at home and Clyde and Roy Heffley.

We understand that she was a member or believed in the Holiness Church.

The remains were interred Tuesday in the Heffley lot in the Horner Cemetery southeast of this city.
