C. N. Jayne of Washburn Prairie locality was in Cassville Wednesday. He said that in places on the prairie the snow had drifted to a depth of five feet.

Claud Kisler is teaching in the Munsey district. Miss Puett who had been teaching the school has resigned on account of sickness in the family. Two members of the Puett family have typhoid fever.

Mrs. Minnie Pierce of Sheldon, Iowa, is visiting Misses Florence and Mary O. George and other friends here.

Born to Mr. and Mrs. Jess Evans near Wheaton, Dec. 4, a son. Of the six children this is their only son.

Mrs. Florence Kirk and daughter, Hazel, moved this week to Newton, Kansas, to make that their home.

Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Mitchell returned Tuesday form a visit at Chickasha, Okla.

R. H. Barber of Republic has opened the Cassville bakery. He is an experience baker and will appreciatee the patronage of the people of Cassville and vicitny. See his ad in the Cassville paper.

Mrs. John D. Long dead


Mrs. John D. Long died at the home of one of the Doty families near Jenkins Saturday night, December 8, following a very short illness.

Mr. and Mrs. Long lived on the Troy Williamson farm west of Cassville two miles. They moved from near Jenkins to this farm, which they bought about two years ago.

Thursday Mrs. Long and her little son went for a visit near Jenkins. Sunday the news came here of her death.

At the time of going to press the REPUBLICAN had not been able to get any further account of her death.
