Local And Personal


Born to Mr. and Mrs. G. M. Taylor east of Cassville, March 4, a daughter.

Mrs. Granville Moore and daughter, Ethel, of Mineral Springs were in this city Monday.

Clyde White and Miss Verna Feland were married Wednesday by Judge Landis. This young couple is well know in Cassville and vicitny and the best wishes of their many friends are extended to them.

M. L. Coleman of Aurora one of the best known business men of this section died Sunday in the Springfield hospital. He was president of the Coleman Lumber co., at Aurora and had a branch business at Monett.

One of the biggest damage suits ever filed in this county will be called in circuit court tomorrow morning. M. J. Derrig is the plaintiff and sues for a crushed ankle. A big verdict was returned in his favor last term but on one account of a technically it must be retired.

Mrs. Claud Atkisson Dead


Wednesday night Editor Ray, of the Democrat, received a letter from his cousin, Mrs. Ida Rogers of Kansas City informing him that her sister, Mrs. Claud Atkisson had died Saturday, March 10, at Spokane, Wash., and that the remains would be shipped to Marionville, her girlhood home for interment.

Mrs. Atkisson was the daughter of Dr. W. H. and Fannie Means who lived for years at Marionville, who have been dead some years.

Mrs. Atkisson is survived by her husband, two little girls, two sisters and one brother.

In her girlhood she had visited in Cassville a number of times and married Claud Atkisson the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. L. Atkisson who were residents of Cassville a number of years ago.

She had been a member of the Christian Church for a number of years.

Mrs. John Blythe Dead


Mrs. J. T. Blythe died at her home near Flat Creek post office last Tuesday of heart trouble. Mrs. Blythe was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Judge Carney, her father being dead.

She was married to J. T. Blythe and is survived by her husband and four children, three daughter and one son.

She had been a member of the Baptist Church for many years and she will be greatly missed by her family and many relatives and friends.

The remains were interred Wednesday in the Carney Cemetery near the Flat Creek postoffice.

The many friends of the bereaved husband and children extend to them their heartfelt sympathy in their sad hours.
