Mrs. Thos. Carey of Verona is visiting her daughter, Mrs. W. A. Wilks.

Mrs. Webber of Iowa came in Monday for a visit with friends at Mineral Springs. Mrs. Webber is a daughter of the late J. B. Harris and formerly resided at Mineral.

Aged Mother Gone


Mrs. Elizabeth (McKinney) Suttles, wife of the late Thomas C. Suttles, died at her old home near Leann, Mo., Feb. 16, 1917, age 85 years, 6 months and 16 days. She was born Aug. 4, 1832 in Limestone County, Alabama. She had been an invalid for several years.

She married Thomas Suttles in 1850. To this union ten children were born, of whom six survive, who are, Mrs. Mary Hilton and Leroy Suttles of Jenkins, Edward Suttles of Aurora, John Suttles of Near Golden and Martin Suttles of Fairview. All the children were at the funeral. She also leaves two brothers and two sisters, Mrs. N. L. Hailey of this city, Mrs. Celia Vance of Richland, N. Mex., E. ?. McKinney of Hailey and T. C. McKinney of Shawnee, Okla., as well as a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her departure.

She became a member of the Methodist Church at an early age and lived a good Christian life. She was very quite and devoted most of her life to her home and family.

Funeral service were held at Leann Conducted by Rev. McKinzie of Aurora. The body was laid to rest in the Leann Cemetery.
