This family moved from Oak Hill, Arkansas to Shell Knob, Missouri in Nov 1907. They farmed and ran a little general store there until late 1912 when Charles bought his brother,John GILBERT's store in Golden, Barry Co Mo. They moved from Golden Mo to Ontario, Caifornia in 1920. They started to run a store in town but soon had opportuny to trade Missori farm and store for a little ranch on Euclid Ave in Ontario, California.
