Mary S. was Daniel's 2nd wife (1st wife, Caroline WEBSTER died bef 1880. She was born in Hancock Co., IL in 1853). Daniel fought in the civil war from Aug. 1861 to Aug. 1865 with Company B, 32 Illinois Infantry. He came to Barry County in 1880's and lived on a farm at S 32 T22 R28, Washburn, Barry Co., MO until his death in 1915. Two of his brothers, James J. and Oliver P. HICKMAN lived in Barry County and also a nephew, Charles T. HICKMAN. They are settled the area in the late 1800's.

James J. and his wife, Minerva are found in the 1920 Federal Census for Washburn, Barry, MO but there is not record of their death or burial in Barry County (I am trying to locate place of death and burial). He lived in Barry County nears his two brothers, Daniel W. and Oliver P. HICKMAN and several children.
