Charlie Beaver allowed us the minutes of the 13th Annual Session of the Mt. Zion Association of United Baptist, held with the New Prospect Church. Benton County Ark., commencing on Friday before the 4th Sabbath in August, 1854 and following day, which was printed by Wm. Quesenbury of Fayetteville, Ark., in 1854. Elder J. F. Mitchell was Moderator and G. W. Ford, clerk. Elders Donagan, Brown, and Slover were prominent in the proceedings. They had $21.56 in the treasury, $3.95 Expense. Evan Daugherty represented the Washburn Church with 50 members. J. F. Mitchell, John Roller and H. Pendergraft represented the New Prospect Church with 45 members. Chas. Haddock, J. G. Castaw and W. C. Montgomery represented New Site with 93 members. He also has a copy of minutes of the association held Oct 12, 13, and 14, 1860 with Pond Spring Church, Benton County, Ark. The attendance on this meeting was not as large as the one mentioned above. Six churches were represented at this meeting while there was ten at the other. At this meeting it was resolved to unite with the body dropping the former name and the united Body be styled the Northwestern Arkansas Baptist Association. The association adjourned to meet with Antioch Baptist Church Friday before the first Sunday in October 1861 in Benton Co., Ark. - Missouri Historical Society Microfilm
