Text | On Wednesday evening about 7 o'clock word was brought to the city that Uncle Jacky Davidson, living two and a half miles north of this city in Lawrence County, had attempted to take his own life by cutting his throat. Dr. Dueenbury was summoned and attended him and from the Doctor we learn that Mr. Davidson had cut several places on this throat with a knife and his condition is critical. Mr. Davidson is one of the oldest settlers in the county, and is well and favorably known to almost all the citizens of Monett. He has been suffering from partial paralysis for the last year, and this is probably the cause of the attempt to take his own life. He is about 80 years old. Monett Eagle. |
