Shown above is the section crew working on the old Cassville & Western Railroad 49 years ago last summer. The men were working just west of the old creamery site near the Forest Products, Inc., plant. The picture was sent in by George Leonard, a former resident of Exeter now living at Farmington. Those known in the picture by Leonard are: John "Pick" Ryan, foreman (in the foreground.) Others in the picture, from left to right: Chris Wiles, Buck "Art" Harris, Charles Haddock, George Leonard, Charley Brantley, George Linebarger, and Abe Oakley. The boy in the picture is George Oakley. The man in the buggy is John Hankins. |
