Headline Killed in the Rain
Text About 6:30 o'clock Sunday morning Antonio Adams was struck and instantly killed by the engine of the Frisco west-bound train a short distance east of Verona. Adams was a farmer, living near Verona, and was walking into town on the track to attend early mass. There was a heavy rain and some mist at the time, which kept him from seeing the train, and Engineer Stephenson from seeing him in time to whistle. No blame is attached to Engineer Stephenson. Springfield Democrat.
