She was 88 years, 1 month and 22 days old when she died. Thomas R. Eacret was given as her husband and she was widowed. The cause of death was chronic nephritis. Myrtle Eacret, Seligman, MO, was the informant. Donna's Note: This document has the spellings of Eacrid, Eacret, Eacrid and is filed by the SOS web site as Eacrey. In 1880 the census reports appear to read Eacret for Thomas and his wife Mary. They were living in household 6 in Sugar Creek Twp. of Barry County. Eidson, age 41, born KY, Clifton Eidson age 9, born KY. - August 4, 1917, Cassville Democrat - When the war of the sixties came on, he enlisted on the side of the Confederate states and served with Gen. Sterling Price and was in Cassville, Oct. 31, 1861. He was married twice both having died. The following children were born: C. Elrod" - Research Note: September 12, 1912, Cassville Republican - Washburn Prairie News: Tuesday, Sept. 3, 1912, at 6:30 p. m., Mrs. Lou Elrod was called from this life to the great beyond, aged 49 years old and 11 months. She was a daughter of the late A. M. James and wife and was born in Tennessee in 1862. Moved to this country with her parents when a child. She was married to James Elrod in 1882 to this union was born 7 children, 2 died when small. She was converted at the age of 20 and joined the Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday evening at 2 o'clock by Rev. Will Ireland after which the body was tenderly laid to rest in the Washburn Prairie Cemetery. The grief stricken husband and children have the heartfelt sympathy of their many friends. - Donna's Note: Lou was the daughter of Alexander McGee James and his wife Mary Jane Wright and she was born in Blount Co., TN. Preceding him in death were one brother, Michael England; one uncle, Norman Maggard and paternal grandparents, Patsy and Jerry Butts and Sis and Lamoine England. He received his education at Washburn and graduated from Southwest High School. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Cassville. SSW: Willodean - Inscription: "Married "56 Years" - Research Note: He was the son of George H. England and Minerva (Brock) England. He grew up working on the family farm and attending public schools in Barry County. After graduating from Cassville High School in 1938, Jack spent a year working with the Civilian Conservation Corps in Missouri, one of the first New Deal public works projects created to promote soil and environmental conservation and public service. With brothers Edward and Briar, Jack lived and worked in CCC camps throughout Missouri doing reforestation work, building wildlife shelters, stocking rivers and lakes, and clearing campgrounds. The Shell Knob Recreation Site on Highway YY is one of the local projects on which Jack worked in 1939. Following service in the U.S. Coast Guard and the U.S. Merchant Marines, Jack joined the U.S. Navy in 1942, and was trained as an Aviation Engine Mechanic at the U.S. Navy Great Lakes Training Station before being shipped to Australia with the 7th Fleet. He received an Honorable Discharge in 1945, and remained in the Naval Reserves until 1957. In 1950, Jack completed training at Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and was hired as an aviation mechanic by American Airlines where he worked until his retirement. Jack married Opal Willadean Dunlap, from Washburn, Missouri, on December 3, 1944. They lived in Barry County until moving to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1950, where they raised three children, and were active in a variety of church, scouting and political organizations and activities. Jack maintained memberships in the Tulsa Masonic Lodge, National Rifle Association, the Republican Party, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the National Association of Civilian Conservation Alumni. In 1975, after retiring from American Airlines, Jack and Willadean returned to Barry County where they spent several years designing and building a home themselves near the original England family farm in Shell Knob. In 2005, Jack participated as a re-enactor in "The Trail of Tears: Cherokee Legacy" in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, where he was the oldest Cherokee descendant depicted in a documentary about the Cherokee removal to Oklahoma in 1838-39. One of eleven children of George and Minerva, Jack was predeceased by brothers George England, Edward England, Joe England, Deering "Briar" England, Amos England, Baby Boy England and Charles England, and sisters Hildreth (England) Settlemire and Susie (England) Timmons. He is survived by a sister of Tehachapi, CA. Jack was also predeceased by his wife, Willadean, in 2001 and son, James Edward England in 2012. White Funeral Home

During the Vietnam War, he was in the United States Army, serving from September 23, 1969, until September 1, 1971. After the service, he was employed for Barry Electric and also Fasco for a while. He had been a custodian and bus driver for Southwest for a few years. SSW: Emma - Research Note: - WASHBURN CITIZEN PASSES AWAY - W. B. Fielding died very suddenly at his home at Washburn Saturday June 9, 1917 about 11 a.m. He had been in very poor health for some time but seemed as well as usual that morning and ate a hearty breakfast, after which he took his daily bath then came in lay down on the bed, dying in a very few minutes. Mr. Fielding was born in VA, Aug. 5, 1840, and came to Barry Co. 38 years ago and purchased the place where he resided at the time of his death. He was married to Emma Williams in 1883, to whom were born twelve children,one dying in infancy. His wife and eleven children survive him. James Schooly, Lucy and Nettie of Washburn, Mrs. Thomas Summey of Seligman, Mrs. George B. Hart of Macksville, KS, and Mrs. William Huffman of Wilmore, KS, were all present at the funeral, Mrs. Guy Sappenfield arriving too late to attend. Mr. Fielding had never united with any church since coming to this country there being no organization of his choice here, but lived a true Christian life and bore his suffering with patience. Funeral services were conducted at the residence Monday morning by Rev. P. H. Hodge and the remains laid to rest in Cargile graveyard. - June 16, 1917, Cassville Democrat - Washburn And Greasy Creek Mixups: Died June 9th of heart failure, Wm. B. Fielding, in his 77th year. A good citizen has passed away. A widow and a large family survive him. Interment June 11th at the Sullivan graveyard. Funeral service by Rev. P. H. Hodge of the Baptist Church. - Donna's Note: the newspaper reads he was buried in Sullivan graveyard. I wonder if it means he was buried in the Sullivan plot. After she married Jim Atkinson in 1940 they moved to Washburn, where they owned Atkinson's General Store and operated it until 1956. From 1960 until 1975 she operated a beauty shop in Washburn. SSW: Muriel P. - Research Note: Dies of Septic Poisoning - Jack Ford, whose home was west of Washburn in the Greasy Creek locality, died Friday morning, Sept. 7th, at the Barry County Hospital in Cassville, as a result of septic poisoning. Mr. Ford had been working at the meat canning plant at Washburn. It is said that the infection began at a small scratched place on his hand. He was 32 years old and leaves a widow and several children. - His death certificate reads that William Elhanen Ford was his father and Cora Gilbert was his mother. He worked at the canning factory. Rev. Chas Vanzandt of Exeter conducted funeral services at the home Tuesday afternoon. Vesta E. Ault was born Sept. 19, 1846 in Tennessee. With her parents, Thomas and Emeline Ault, she came to Barry county when eight years of age. She was married to James Foster of Pea Ridge, Ark., in 1868. To them two children were born. Research Note: May 13, 1915, Thursday, Cassville Republican - Washburn News: The remains of George Frazier were brought here last Friday for burial from Kansas City. He was killed in the Southwestern switch yard in Kansas City. He was a brother of Mrs. John Black of this place. The funeral was conducted by Rev. J. E. Harney at the Union Church, Saturday morning and his body was laid to rest at the Washburn Prairie Cemetery. - George Frazier who some years ago resided in Cassville was run over by a train at Joplin Friday and was instantly killed. His body was completely severed. His father, while resident of Cassville engaged in the transfer business between Cassville and Exeter. He was a brother-in-law of John Black of Washburn. Phyllis' Note: Death Certificate reads that he was single and a son of D. A. Frazier. His mother's maiden name given as Martha Lora. The cause of death was given as killed in K. Research Note: Son of Andrew Jackson Frost and Adeline C. Ashcraft, both buried at Oak Hill Cemetery, Cassville, MO. His first wife was Emma Florence Johnson and second wife Harriet "Hattie" Dorilla Chadd, her first husband was Samuel Trowbridge. - John A. Frost, age 76 years, passed away Wed., Jan. 9, at the home of his son, Kellis Frost, in Rogers, following an illness of about two weeks. Mr. Frost had been in failing health rapidly for the past year. He was treated at the Stella Hospital a short time ago. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Frost home in Washburn. Burial was made in the Washburn Prairie cemetery. Surviving him are his widow, Mrs. Hattie Frost, one son, Kellis of Rogers; one daughter, Mrs. Pearl Pennington of Dallas, TX; one sister, Mrs. Emily Pocock of Pomona, CA; and two brothers E. A. Fulton. - He married in Barry Co., MO, Jesten E. Price, Apr. 14, 1870. - Time has again taken a former old time settler and citizen of Barry Co. He served in the Civil War 2 years and 2 months. He moved to Barry County in 1866,and in 1870 was married to Miss Jeston E. Price, who died in 1902. To this union were born four children, three of whom are living: Mrs. Eli Sooter of Urbenett, AR, Creed Fulton of Washburn and Grover Fulton of Cordin, OK, Price Fulton having died at the age of six months.
