Research Note: The Stringer's were one of the early pioneer families to settle in Barry County arriving in the 1840's. Leroy P. Stringer married Juliana Whittington August 13, 1846 in Barry County. Son of Reuben and Jane Stringer. - Barry County, MO Federal Soldiers from Goodspeed: Stringer, L. P. - L. P. Stringer registered for the Civil War Draft from Barry Co., MO in Nov. 1863. - Cassville Republican, Apr. 9, 1896 - L. P. Stringer, Dec'd, Harry Horine, Adm'r. Note that the date is Apr. 9, 1896, stone has that he died Nov. 8, 1886. - Cassville Republican, Nov. 28, 1901 - William Stringer, youngest son of the late Leroy P. Stringer of Barry County, was killed recently near Joplin. Note
