Research Note: Death certificate listed under Rosewicz, should be Roschevitz. He was married and a farmer. He was a son of Joseph Rosewiecz, born Russia. His mother was marked "not known" - but born Russia. Andrew Stachowiak (son-in-law) of Bricefield, MO, was the informant. His wife was Anna Jaster. Son Frank John is listed under Roschevitz on this page. - Notes from Michele Rosewitz, great granddaughter: My dad's paternal line is with Thomas Rosewitz and his wife Anna Jaster. The Celusniak/Czelusniak's are on my dad's (Henry Rosewitz) maternal line. Sophia Anna Celusniak (1887-1979) was my dad's mother. She was married to Joseph Rosewitz (1882-1965), son of Thomas Rosewitz and Anna (Jaster) Rosewitz. As to the spelling of the Rosewitz name, I am not sure what the Polish spelling is for my people. My grandfather, Joseph Rosewitz, chose to spell it as "Rosewitz", which was supposed to be close to the Polish pronunciation. However, my grandfather's brother, Frank Roschevitz, chose to spell his last name as "Roschevitz", which was, again, supposed to be how it was said in Polish. In my research I have found it spelled a number of different ways and I don't know which way is correct. I am related to the Jaster's through my great-grandmother Anna Jaster (Rosewitz). I believe Anna Jaster and Peter Jaster were siblings. I have matched with DNA testing with many of Peter Jaster's descendants. My great-grandmother, Anna (Jaster) Rosewitz, left Thomas and the children, and ran off to Illinois with August Philip, who also left his wife Elizabeth and son behind. August and Anna started another family in Pinckneyville, Illinois, around 1885, and lived there until they died. Anna and August had four children together (two boys and a set of twin girls.) If you look at the 1900 federal census Thomas has himself as widowed but he isn't really - Anna is in Illinois with August. I have always wondered what could have happened to Elizabeth and her son Frank because that could not have been easy for her to run a farm. I also believe there were no divorces or remarriages for any of them (being Catholic). I can't find Elizabeth Philip in any later census records. August Philip and Thomas Rosewitz had neighboring farms and I wonder if/when August (or Elizabeth) sold the property? Quite a mystery. - Notes for Thomas Rosewicz Death Certificate

Monett,
Barry Co., MO
Research Note: Emil Theodore Rosewicz, 67 years old of Monett, Mo., passed December 8, 2015 after a struggle with Lewy Body Dementia and a series of recent strokes. He was the son of Michael and Sophia (Stipp) Rosewicz; he was the youngest of seven children. Growing up in a farming family, Emil and his family knew hard work. These lessons shaped his work ethic as well as his passion for the cattle industry. As a graduate of Wheaton High School, Emil later earned his BS from Missouri Southern State University. Coupled with his firm foundation in agriculture and business degree, Emil managed Raliff's Feed Store in Neosho, and then continued his career as a successful Dairy Feed Representative for Cargill. Emil then eagerly seized the opportunity to own and operate American Milling in Fayetteville, Ark. After 12 years, he sold his feed store and mill and returned to Barry County to focus solely on the registered Limousin cow-calf operation he had spent decades building. He was an active member of the North American Limousin Foundation, Fullblood Limousin Alliance; Missouri Cattlemen's Association and National Cattlemen's Beef Association and sat on the board of the Barry County Soil and Water Conservation. Emil was recognized as a Barry County Farm Family in 2012. Emil was preceded in death by: his parents; one sister Delores Rosewicz; and three brothers: Julius, David and George. - Wife not given in the obit, presumed divorced. He was survived by children and grandchildren. Bennett-Wormington
