Della grew up and received her education in Indiana, graduating from high school in Milroy and then graduated from Beauty School in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was a licensed hairdresser for several years. In 1970, she moved from South Bend, Indiana to Shell Knob to make her home. Husband of Elizabeth Wilkerson. - Donna's Note: His death date was transcribed as a birth date, so that was corrected and the inscription was added, which helped calculate his birth year correctly. Researchers have posted that Elisha was born Nov. 11, 1806 and that he married on Aug. 20, 1829 in Montgomery Co., IL, to Mahala Wilkinson who they say was born in 1811. They have that his parents were Samuel and Elizabeth 'Betsy' (Briance) Painter. Some of them claim that Mahala is buried Rocky Comfort Cemetery, and that she died Feb. 19, 1896. - In 1880 Mahala was living with her son William in White River Twp. of Barry Co., MO, and was age 68. - William Painter, 35; Sarah Painter, 29; Mary E. Painter, 11; Thomas Painter, 7; Nancy E Painter, 4; Fanna Painter 1; and Mahala Painter, 68. Mahala reported that she was born in TN, her father in NJ and her mother in KY. He was a son of Thomas Painter and Martha Cooper and died July 6, 1966, age 66, near Shell Knob, Missouri. He had lived in the Kansas City community for twenty-three years. His closest relative was given as Myrtle Painter, 3628 Fuller, Kansas City, MO. He was a carpenter. The cause of death was Coronary Thrombosis. His home address was 3628 Fuller, Kansas City, MO, in Jackson County. His wife was listed as Myrtle Painter. His funeral was at the Culver's Chapel at 2:30 P. M. in Cassville, and Walter Head of Golden, MO, was the minister in charge of the service. Whitley Garrett officiating. Burial is under the direction of Williamson of Shell Knob. Mr. Philibert died at 12:45 a.m. Monday in St. John's Regional Health Center where he had been a patient for three weeks. He had lived in the Shell Knob area for the past eight years, having moved here from Fort Worth, Texas. He was a retired inspector of Delta Airlines of Fort Worth and an Army and Navy veteran of World War II. Philibert, 87, Professor Emeritus, Missouri State University died Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010, at his home in Shell Knob. He was born on April 14, 1922, in Sawyer, KS. At the age of 16, he joined the Civil Conservation Corps (CCC), the Roosevelt-era work relief program. While stationed at CCC Camp 3753 in Shell Knob, Robert met his wife of 66 years, Willena. The couple was married on Dec. 6, 1942. He served with the 8th Army Air Corps at Kimbolton, U.K and was discharged at the end of the war in November, 1945. He graduated in 1952 with his Bachelors of Education in Biology. During the mid 1950s, he taught science classes at both Mt. Vernon and Monett high schools. In 1957, he was awarded a Defense for Education national fellowship, which allowed him to begin graduate studies at the University of Missouri, Columbia. In the fall of 1963, Robert joined the faculty of the Life Sciences Department at then Southwest Missouri State College teaching classes. He retired to Shell Knob in 1986 after 23 years of teaching. He was preceded in death by his wife Willena Rickman; parents Charles Benjamin Austin Philibert and Elizabeth Applegate; brother, Harold; sisters, Clara and Bethel; and one grandson. Survivors include: one sister, Maxine Haggerman, Shell Knob; one son, four grandchildren; daughter of Republic; daughter of Shell Knob; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held today (Wednesday) at Fohn Funeral Home, in Shell Knob. Ida was age 25. Eugene was a nephew of Loyd B. Leach. Ida was Loyd's sister and a widow. She was born July of 1874 in MO.) On the Culver record, Verda Pipes was given as the wife of Eugene. The cause of Eugene's death was terminal pneumonia. He died in the V. A. Hospital, K. C., MO. He was a retired railroad foreman. His funeral was on August 28, 1966, 4:30 P. Research Note: Photo of stone at findagrave.com. SSW: Rudy E. - She was the daughter of Millard and Maudie (James) Whisman. On August 15, 1961, Belva was united in marriage to Rudy Pozek and they were married for forty-eight years before his passing on October 25, 2009, in Independence, Missouri. Belva attended Shell Knob Elementary School and graduated from Cassville High School in 1942. Upon graduation she moved to Kansas City to be near her older sister Wanda. Belva started working for Montgomery Ward and later went to work for Sears where she retired in 1986 after forty years. In 2010, she moved from Independence, Missouri, to Shell Knob to be closer to her brother where she lived at the Playce in Shell Knob until it closed in February 2012. Belva then moved to Peachtree in Holiday Island, Arkansas. When her health failed and more care was needed Belva moved to Brighton Ridge in September 2019. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers, H.F. Whisman, Kenneth Whisman, Carl Whisman, M.F. "Junior" Whisman, and Charles "Chock" Whisman; and three sisters, Wanda Bradshaw, Vera Simmons, and Willa Dean Swofford. White Funeral Home

F. LaFountain with whom she had made her home for several years. She was buried in the Painter Cemetery, Saturday, the funeral serviced conducted by Virgil Kimball.
