Dilworth, Thomas H. Dec. 7, 1827
NC
Mar. 20, 1863 Research Note: Thomas H. Dilworth married Elizabeth J. Bradley on Nov. 4, 1856 in Barry Co., MO. Elizabeth Jane Dilworth married Everhart Hadley on Feb. 28, 1867 in Barry Co., MO. - Jane's Obit: November 20, 1909, Saturday, Cassville Democrat - Mrs. Jane Hadley died at her home in Exeter, Monday, Nov. 15, 1909, at 4 a.m., of heart failure, aged 72 years, 9 months, 4 days. She was born in Tennessee and came to this country when very young with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Bradley, old and well known citizens during life. She first married Thos. Dilworth, to whom were born three children, one of whom is living, Mrs. J. A. England of near Butterfield. Mr. Dilworth died and in 1867 or 1868. Then she and the late Everhart Hadley were married, and to this marriage were born six children, all of whom are living. They are Chas. Hadley, Frisco agent at Denison, Tex.; Mrs. Price Stapleton of Exeter; Thos. Hadley of near Exeter; Calvin H. Hadley of Cassville; Leonard Hadley of Anadarko, Okla.; and Miss Lottie Hadley, who lived with her mother. She had been a consistent member of the Baptist Church for 40 years. She left three sisters and one brother who are Mrs. Ann Burton of the Pogue's Creek country; Mrs. Jack England and of Fairland, Okla.; Mrs. Martha Griggs of Fayetteville, Ark., and John Bradley of Joplin. Impressive funeral services were conducted at the Exeter Baptist Church Tuesday by Rev. C. M. Smith, after which the remains ere laid to rest in Maple Park Cemetery at that place. She was an every day Christian. The beautifying influences of a pure religion were spread over a life and character as spotless and charming as was ever possessed by any of the noble woman who have lived and died during the ages that are gone. As such a life was a blessing and benefaction to all within the sphere of its influence, so is the death of such a one a public, misfortune, as well as an irreparable loss to the made desolate of their departure. In the presence of such sorrow how cold and impotent are words and how doubly deep would be the grief over the grave, did not the rainbow of Christian hope span the dark gulf between time and eternity, and such pure, bright lives inspire the belief that there is a better world beyond where freed from the corroding cares of earth, the good are re-united "after life's fitful fever." - Asa Chillcut, Dr. Harris and Elias Price were also buried in his grave. He was killed during the Civil War. His stone was at the county court house, featured in a glass counter, but has been reset here in Packwood. A note on the stone reads it was found 1976 under the house of W. F. Wilbanks, located a mile and a half west of Exeter, w/o the intersection of Hwy 86/76. This is right in the neighborhood of the cemetery. According to Goodspeed, T. H. Ditworth - AKA: Dilworth - was a Confederate in 1860-1861. - Capt.
