The cause of death was suicidal, from a gun shot wound with revolver in head (tuberculosis of lungs in last stage). He was married and a farmer and miner. Informant: Hugh Harlin Wilson of Crane, MO. - 1900 Census, Pierce, Stone, Missouri - Ebenezer N. Wilson, born July 1879 MO, age 20, married 2 years; Martha, wife, born July 1881 MO, age 18, mother of 1 child; Loy, son, born Nov. 1898 MO, age 1. - Crane Cronicle, April 1912 - Ebb Wilson, son of Harlan Wilson, living one half mile west of Osa, committed suicide at 6 o'clock Friday afternoon by shooting. Ebb was 33 years old and has been suffering from pulmonary tuberculosis for some time and has been confined to his bed for the past three months and realized it was impossible for him to recover, however he had never intimated to his father or any one else that he intended killing himself. He had an unusually bad day Friday, being seized with spells of coughing at frequent intervals, which would leave him so nearly exhausted that he could not wait on himself, so his father had stayed with him till late in the afternoon when he, the father, left the house leaving a small son to attend to Ebb's wants. When the father had gone, Ebb got up and went to his trunk and took his pistol out and secreted it about the bed, leaving the impression with the little fellow that he was taking a letter from the trunk. When supper was ready, his father, as usual, asked him what he would have brought in for his supper, but the son refused to eat anything saying he would rest and for the family to go on with their meal. They had hardly got seated at the table when the fatal shot was fired. The pistol had been held against the head behind the left ear and death was instantaneous. Besides a father, deceased leaves two brothers two sisters and a half brother. Interment was made in the family plot at Osa, April 14. - Grave #556. - Photo of Ebb - Wilson Brothers Photo

On June 1, 1896, Mathy Hilton and Neb Wilson, son of Jones Wilson of Stone County, were at Scholten and they quarreled. On the way home Hilton met Bud Greenway, his brother-in-law and told him Wilson was in Scholten with two pistols waiting for him. Previously Greenway had charged Wilson with ruining his sister. Greenway went home, got his pistols, borrowed Hilton's mule, which he was to leave at his mother's Mrs. George Solomon to be returned to brother Jim. At Scholten he shot Wilson in the back first. A. M. Hilton tried to stop him. Testifying for the state were A. M. Hilton, Alex and Charles Wilkins, J. W. Bond, press Hilton, Ora Hodge, Jas. The body was found about 12 o'clock, Saturday by Wm. Doty, while fishing. Soon after the body was found and identified it became know that Mr. Henson had left his home Wednesday morning in search of cattle. He stayed Wednesday night at the home of John Bennett near the Flat Creek post office and arrived at the home of Jones Wilson about 10 o'clock Thursday, on his way to the home of S. A. Peck of that community. It is surmised that he was drowned shortly after leaving Mr. Wilson's home in attempting to ford Flat Creek at what is known as the Chimney Rock hole, a very dangerous ford. Mr. Henson's family had never suspicion anything wrong because of his absence and the news of his death came to them as well as to his many neighbors and friends with much sorrow and sadness. - December 14, 1916, Thursday, Cassville Republican - Jones Wilson and son, Robert, of Flat Creek were in Cassville Tuesday paying taxes and looking after other business. He owned a mill south of Verona and later moved to Elm Springs, south of Marionville near Crane. He is buried in the Spring River Cemetery, Lawrence County, Missouri, just south of Verona. His tombstone reads F. W. Henry (Fredrick Henrick William) Wissmann. Henrietta was the daughter of Johann Heinrich Wilhelm Strangmeier and Maria Henrietta Graeve. She first married Frederic W. Storek on June 17, 1869 in St. Louis, MO. Second married Henry Wissman on Oct. 3, 1871 in St. Louis, MO. (No idea why her father was named as Warner.) She left Germany because of a mean step-mother to be a maid in St. Louis. Marcella Esterly tells a story handed down through generations about Henrietta. Apparently her mother died while she was young and her father then married an English woman who had a daughter. Henrietta supposedly came to this country to get away from her English step-mother with whom she did not get along. When Henrietta was packing her trunk prior to leaving Germany, she packed a locket. When she got here it was gone. Years later she received a picture of the family in Germany. Around the step-sister's neck was the missing locket. - 1880 Census, Pierce, Stone, Missouri - Etta Wissman, age 31; Amelia age 6; Louiza age 4; Henrietta age 2; Clara age 8 months born in Aug. - Grave #57.
