Research Note: Death certificate gives his birth date as Aug. 2, 1898. WW I Draft Reg. give his birth date as Aug. 17, 1898. He was a student at Drury College in Springfield, MO when he registered in 1918. Father, F. E. Moad of Monett, MO. According to the census he was the son of Fidella "Fred" E. Maod and Belle Basham. He was a life insurance salesman and married. An inquest was held. An autopsy was performed and from the findings, cause of death was toxic fastritis, acute poisoning nature of kind not known at present. Waiting for further analysis. The death certificate gave his father as John E. Moad and mother Martha Belle Moad, which must be incorrect. Rev. C. C. Callaway Funeral Home Records state that his father was Louis Myers and his mother Elnora Smith. He was married. His death certificate states that he was a retired carpenter. Mrs. C. M. Myers, Monett, MO gave the information. The cemetery log book reads that in the old section, in block 4, in lot 2, Y Flag area is where he is buried, there is also a note that reads: 'No Body'. The names of his parents were not given, but it was listed that they were both born in Germany. The cause of death was listed as auricular fibrillation.
