Research Note: He was born on his Great Grandfather's farm in Barry County, Missouri. Bob left the farm to receive an education, serve in the military, and to provide for his family. Upon his retirement from MoDot in 1996, Bob returned to the farm where he continued to raise beef cattle. On October 3, 2014, he departed this life, just a few steps from where he was born. Bob attended college at MU in Columbia and MSU in Springfield. On November 29, 1957, he married his loving wife, Janet Jean Garner at the Scholten Church of Christ. From 1958 to 1960 Bob served in the Army at Fort Sam Huston in San Antonio, Texas. He then worked for the Federal Land Bank in Boliver from 1964 to 1966. Bob then spent 30 years working for MoDot in both Carthage and West Plains.
