VanDorn, his father. - May 18, 1916, Cassville Republican - Elza A. VanDorn, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. L. VanDorn, northwest of Exeter, departed this life, May 8th, 1916. He was born Feb. 12, 1894, being 22 years, 2 months and 26 days old at his death. He was married Aug. 16, 1913, to Miss Maggie Taylor. To this marriage one daughter was born. His wife died April 1, 1916. He is survived by his little daughter, father, mother and two sisters. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. M. Smith, and interment made May 9, in the Maplewood Cemetery. Elza was a young man. His grief stricken parents have the sincere sympathy of the community in which they live. Death Certificate

She was the daughter of Chris and Vana (Henson) Haley. She married Otto Vaught in 1937, and he preceded her in death in 1959. She married Harold McPhail in 1961 and he preceded her in death in 1984. - James Otto Vaught, 54 years old, died Friday afternoon near Viola, where he was employed. He had suffered a heart attack while he was at work. Mr. Vaught had been a lifelong resident of Barry Co., MO. He had been a farmer near Aurora, MO. He had recently been employed by the Broadhurst Land Development Co., as a heavy duty mechanic. Survivors include 10 sons, Bob, Joe, Bill, James, Charles, Perry, Kenny, Dean, Gayle and Kevin, all of Aurora; two daughters, Patricia and Betty of Aurora; two brothers, Burris of Jenkins and Don of Washburn and two sisters, Mrs. Opal Latham of Washburn and Mrs. Claudine Jones of Bethel, OH.
