There is no stone for Aunt Katy who was a negro slave and who stayed with the John Higgs family after the Civil War. A log cabin was built for her in the back yard. There are 33 accounts in the Higgs account book where she was given supplies. She died in 1898 and a coffin was bought for $14. Aunt Katy was laid to rest in the Higgs cemetery near Butterfield, MO.
