Research Note: The death certificate gives his year of birth as 1842. He was a farmer and paralysis was the cause of death. Son of Charles Haddock and mother not given. J. C. Skelton of Eagle Rock, MO was the informant. - Boon's mother was Sarah Collins. His wife was Columbia Cornelia Russell. He was a Civil War Veteran serving in Company B, 11 Missouri Infantry, Private, Confederate. The 11th Missouri Infantry CSA was commanded by Col. Simon P. Burns, Lt. Col. Thomas H. Murray and Maj. James Phillips. This unit was first organized by Col. DeWitt C. Hunter as the 8th Missouri Infantry but later reorganized and redesigned to prevent its confusion with Mitchell's 8th Missouri Infantry (commanded by Col. Charles S. Mitchell). Burns' and Hunter's original regiment (designated as the 8th Missouri Infantry). He saw action at the Battle of Helena and during Shelby's Missouri/Arkansas raid of Sept./Oct. 1863. As designated the 11th Missouri Infantry, this regiment engaged the Federal during the Red River Campaign, Battles of Pleasant Hill, and Jenkins' Ferry among others. Among the many listed were Haddock, Marion, MO, 11th Inf. Co. B; Haddock, Noah, MO 11th Inf. Co. B; and Haddock, Boone, MO 11th Inf. Co. B - Brothers Boone, Noah, and Marion Haddock were all in the same unit. - Cassville Republican, February 17, 1916 - Mr. and Mrs. Boone Haddock of near Eagle Rock celebrated their Golden wedding anniversary Monday, Feb. 14. A large number of relatives, neighbors and friends assembled at their home and assisted in making the day a most pleasant one for these excellent old people. Mr. and Mrs. Haddock were both born in Barry County and have lived here all their lives. They have been awarded a number of times the prize offered at the Cassville Reunion for the couple having the longest continual residence in the county. They are enjoying fair health and bid fair to enjoy many returns of their wedding anniversary. - Cassville Republican, May 8, 1919 - Pioneer Citizen Dies: Boone Haddock, a pioneer citizen of Barry County, passed away at his home near Eagle Rock, Monday morning, May 5, following a period of failing health for several months. The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at he home and interment made in the family cemetery on the Stubblefield farm nearby. The funeral was conducted by Rev. Will Ireland of Exeter. Boone Haddock was born on the old Munsey farm on Roaring River in Dec 1842, making him more than 76 years old. He had lived his entire life near there, except what time he was out of the county in the Confederate Army during the Civil War. Few men have been born and lived their entire lives of more than three score and two years in one community. He was at the time of his death, perhaps, the oldest native born citizen of continues residences in Barry County. Soon after Civil War, he was united in marriage to Miss Columbia Russell, a daughter of Milo B. Russell, another old settler of this county. Mrs. Haddock was also born in this county and has lived here all her life. They have one child, Mrs. Alice Elam, wife of Judge R. H. Elam, of Eagle Rock. Boone Haddock was one of this county's most trustworthy and highly respected citizens. He was successful farmer and always looked upon as one of the most substantial men in the community where he spent a long life. For years he had been a member of the Baptist Church at Eagle Rock and he was indeed one of the pillars of the church. No one came nearer of having a real friend of every acquaintance than did "Uncle" Boone Haddock. He lived an exemplary life and his death means a great loss to his community. He leaves wife and daughter, one brother, Joe Haddock of Monett, one sister, Mrs. Wm. Fare of Purdy and two half brothers, Lon of near Monett and Ranse of Eagle Rock and one half sister, Mrs. Rachel Banks, widow of John Banks, of near Monett. - Another Photo Death Certificate
