Research Note: Barry County Deputy Sheriff Lawrence Kirk Mackey, 34, of Cassville, died Saturday, August 18, at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield due to complications from surgery. He was the son of Rondo and Ellenor Mackey. He received his education in Springfield, then in Crocker, where he graduated from high school. While in high school, he served with the Crocker Volunteer Fire Department. He graduated from the Police Academy at Drury College in Springfield, served as a police officer in Crane, and was currently serving as Deputy Sheriff 59 in Barry County. He was a member of the Crane Masonic Lodge, the Missouri Deputy Sheriff's Association of Southwest Missouri, and the Southwest Missouri Chapter of the Fraternal Order of Police. He married Reyne Sajatovich on September 20, 1997 in Marshfield. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. at Ava Cemetery in Ava, under the direction of Williamson Funeral Home in Cassville. Research Note: He was the son of Frank John and Anna (Damian) Magula. On Jan 4, 1964 in San Diego, California, he was united in marriage to Polly Whitney. Preceding him in death were his parents; four brothers and five sisters. Frank grew up and received his education in Ohio. On December 27, 1950 he joined the United States Air Force, serving until November 14, 1954. Later he moved to San Diego where he met Polly and they raised their family. For many years he worked as a pipefitter for Federal Civil Service. After their children were grown, they enjoyed traveling in their motor home and visiting with friends. He served in the North Africa campaign of World War II as a logistics officer in the 15th Army Air Force. He retired from the U.S. Army Reserves as colonel in 1972. He worked for the U.S. Civil Service in CAA/FAA Communications from 1937 until his retirement in 1972. He was a certified commercial pilot and flight instructor for small aircraft. He was active in amateur radio since his boyhood days. He married Louise Moser on August 27, 1937, in Berrien County, Michigan, and she preceded him in death. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Esther and Estella Anderson, and three brothers, Hugh, Dow, and Ira. It was his wish that there was no visitation or services, and that his ashes be scattered over his beloved Missouri Ozarks. Cremation was under the direction of Williamson Funeral Home of Cassville. He had a keen interest in horses and raised, raced and bred thoroughbreds. He lived in Spearville, Kansas, for a time and moved to Perry, Oklahoma, where he lived for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Leona Florene (Fagg) (Hunt) Moudy, his parents Ernest and Maxine Moudy, by three sisters, Joy, Joyce and Ernestine Moudy and three brothers, Ralph, Larry, and Walter F. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean conflict. He was a tool and dye maker for Cessna Aircraft, retiring in 1986 and moving to Shell Knob. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2203 in Shell Knob. He married Frances Minnie Foster on September 13, 1999, in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by two wives, I. Research Note: Wheaton, Barry Co., MO resident. He was the son of Henry A. Plummer, Sr. and Lovie (Stout) Plummer. On December 18, 1953, in Anderson, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Sylvia Lay, who preceded him in death in September, 2005. Also preceding him in death were his parents; five sisters, Elsie Wear, Frances Church, Hazel Roark, Fern Grossman and Faye Wear and a son in infancy. Henry grew up and received his education in McDonald County and graduated from West Point High School at Anderson. During the Korean War, he joined the United States Marine Corp, serving from December 5, 1951 until December 2, 1953. Throughout his life, Henry had worked in sawmills, for the railroad and in the mines. He had resided in Colorado, Wyoming, Nevada and California.
