He married Phyllis Roberta Lyon on September 16, 1947, in Great Bend, Kansas. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dwight Gable and Dean Gable; and two sisters, Joyce White and Gale Austin. Research Note: He was the son of the late Hubert and Lorna (Lundeen) Gamroth. At the age of 13, Jim began working in saw mills in Oregon. As a young man, Jim enlisted in the United States Army and served his country honorably during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. After moving to California in 1971, Jim began his career in the oil fields. In a change of career direction, Jim became a Manager for Motel 6, having motels in California and then Blue Springs, MO. After moving his family to Monett, he later retired from Herd's Truck Stop after fifteen years of faithful service. On February 17, 1964, Jim married Ruby Faye Thompson in Tijuana, Mexico. They were blessed with over 52 years together, before her passing on November 21, 2016. On March 8th, 1996, he married Laura Thiessen in St. Joseph, Missouri. In 1996 they moved to Lake of the Ozarks where he worked on prize winning stock cars. In July of 2005, George and his family moved to Shell Knob, Missouri where he continued his love of mechanics, working on all kinds of cars, tractors, lawn-mowers. George was an avid NASCAR fan and attended local stock car races regularly. Research Note: He was the son of Charles Elzy Garrison and Marie Anna Berg Garrison. On September 25, 1959, he was married to his devoted wife, Dolores Ellis. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Maxine and granddaughter, Megan. He attended Arkansas City schools and later graduated from John Brown Military Academy, Siloam Springs, Arkansas. He was a Korean War veteran serving in the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1956. Following in his father's footsteps he was employed by the AT and SF Railroad starting at the age of 16 as a clerk in Arkansas City and retired as Road Foreman of Engines in 1993 at Newton, Kansas, moving to Shell Knob after retirement. His love for the railroad kept him working as a part time consultant, licensing railroad engineers until his second retirement in 1997. Because of his love of children he was involved with the Optimist Club sponsoring a children's fishing tournament, helped with the Boy Scouts program and played the part of Santa Claus many times. He belonged to the Masonic Lodge, High 12 Club and was a member of the Shell Knob Shrine Club, helping with the annual Bass Tournament for many years. He was a former member of the Million Dollar Band, Midian Shrine Club of Wichita, Kansas. His activities included being a 50 year member of the VFW, Lions Club member, chairman of the Local Emergency Planning District of Barry and Lawrence Counties, instigator of the home delivered meals program which developed into the Shell Knob Senior Corp and Central Crossing Senior Center, an avid member and supporter of the Central Crossing Fire District and a member of several train modeling clubs. | Fohn Funeral Home Phyllis Long |

Research Note: Ken joined the Navy when he was 20, and travelled the world. He earned 2 Bronze stars, and 6 Good Conduct Medals, Navy Occupation Medal, and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. During his service Ken achieved the rank of Machinist's Mate Senior Chief Petty Officer. He retired active duty after 20 years and transferred to the Navy Reserves for his final 10 years before discharge. Ken finished 2 years of education at City College in San Diego, after which he began employment in the private sector, first at Motorola in Arizona, followed by 15 years at Huber Construction as the Shop Superintendent. He retired to Purdy, Missouri where he bought land and started a Goat Ranch which he worked for 20 years. He eventually moved to Monett, Missouri where he finally enjoyed retirement and fishing for the next 20 years. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents Eugene and Ida Gauthier; and his siblings: Rena Lane, Effie Larsen, Joyce Larsen, Robert Gauthier, Benjamin Gauthier, William Gauthier, and Allen Gauthier, as well as two wives, Syble and Colleen. Kenneth is survived by 4 children. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He remained a life member of the American Legion Post 349, of Little Lake, MI. Bonnie Weatherly, his friend and neighbor for many years, our gratitude. And to the family of Margaret Kerr, his friend and companion prior to her passing, for their acceptance and inclusion. Research Note: Shell Knob, Barry Co., MO resident. He was the son of Martin and Bridgett (Kelly) Gibbons. He was a Navy veteran, serving in Japan during the Korean War on the flagship USS Hector as a hard helmet diver. At the peace signing, he represented the U.S. government in facilitating the transfer of the papers of the war dead. He was the recipient of the United Nations Service Medal and the Korean Service Medal. He later lived in Lindenhurst, Ill., where he was a salesman for McGee janitorial and chemical supplies before moving to Shell Knob in 1978. He and his wife owned and operated San Rene Resort on Kings River until 1989. He was one of the citizens instrumental in the formation of the Central Crossing Association which was the predecessor of Shell Knob Chamber of Commerce and the Central Crossing Fire District. He was a former Barry County road commissioner, a member of the American Legion Post 788, and the Lions Club 10145. He and his wife were involved with the McMaster Solar Project and participated in the Chicago to Los Angeles American Solar Challenge in 2001, 2003 and 2005. He married Chloe Kassel Dietz on May 27, 1978. He was preceded in death by one son, Scot Gibbons; and one grandchild. Preceding him in death were his parents; three brothers, Keith, Billy and Bobby Gillum and a great grandson, Joseph Eugene Lawrence Belousek, Jr. Jerry grew up in Connersville, Indiana, where he became a competitive swimmer in High School, holding the state record for the Individual Medley and completed in a 19 mile swim in Lake Michigan. At the age of nineteen, Jerry accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. This became the driving force of his life. He received a four year scholarship for swimming at Ohio State University but turned it down to serve his country in the United States Navy. He served in Vietnam and was awarded the Navy-Marine Corps Medal for Heroism while serving on the USS Midway Aircraft Carrier. After twenty-six years of service he retired in 1982 with the rank of Senior Chief Warrant Officer (CW04) and was known as "The Gunner". He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans. In January, 2001, he and Linda retired to Shell Knob, Missouri, where he loved the beauty of the lake and the friendliness of the people. He was an active member of First Baptist Church of Shell Knob, where he served in many areas including that of Deacon. He then attended DeLaSalle Military School in Kansas City and graduated from Kemper Military School in Boonville, Missouri. During the Korean War he served in the United States Navy. As a child he was very active in Boy Scouts. For thirteen years he was business manager at St. Anthony's in Hays, Kansas and several years he was Director of Provider Relations for Blue Cross, Blue Shield of Kansas and served as a representative to Blue Cross, Blue Shield to train hospitals in Medicare and other important trainings. Prior to moving to Topeka, Kansas he created a band known as J. Leonard Band in which he played the drums and continued with the band after moving to Topeka. While his boys were growing up he coached baseball for nineteen years and was athletic director for his sons' school. In 1993 he moved from Topeka, Kansas to Shell Knob to make his home. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Shell Knob, was active in Shell Knob Lions Club, Shell Knob VFW, American Legion in Shell Knob and Hays, Kansas and was Man of the Year in 1960 in Hays. Research Note: Bobbie Harris, 68, of Shell Knob, MO, passed away on Thursday, 6-16-2016 from a tragic accident at her home. She was the first child of Donald Dean and Nyla Fae Dinsmoor. Bobbie lived all but two years of her adult life in Wichita where she developed a prominent career in education. She retired in 2008 and moved to Shell Knob, MO. Preceding her in death were her father in 1976 and her mother in 2004. Bobbie's teaching career began in 1970. She taught one year in AZ and one year in Derby, KS before she found a job at her beloved Wichita North High School. Bobbie spent 17 years teaching there as well as coaching tennis. In 1989, she was given the opportunity to lead Wichita Public Schools physical educators as the Curriculum Coordinator. She was instrumental in developing a K-12 Curriculum and Assessment document that was nationally recognized. In 1996, Bobbie became the Project Director of several grants funded by the Kansas Health Foundation. Physical Dimensions, Physical Focus and Physical Essentials Curriculums and Workshops transformed the way physical education was taught in Kansas. When the grant ended in 2002, she took her knowledge to Wichita State University and prepared future physical educators. Bobbie retired in 2008 with impressive professional recognition throughout the years. He was a pilot and flew for the Sheriff's office transporting prisoners in Flint, Michigan. After his retirement he moved to Shell Knob, Missouri to make his home in 1996. He was a charter member of HOG (Harley Owners Group) and a member for thirty-five years. In the 1970's he joined the Flint Lodge #23, A.F. and A.M. and was their Worshipful Master in 1987. He was also a Shriner and member of the Shell Knob Shrine Club. He was head of the Shell Knob American Legion, where he was a life-time member. According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Kenneth Hayzlett, 62, of Shell Knob, was backing a 2013 Polaris Ranger when the ATV overturned, ejecting an occupant. The occupant, Shari Rains, 59, of Shell Knob, was pronounced dead at 6:34 p.m. by Barry County Deputy Coroner Todd Hughes. Hayzlett was not injured. As a child, Randy loved cars, and was a star student in his high school shop class. Randy would go on to earn a degree at Universal Technical Institute and become a diesel mechanic for John Deere. He later became the Shop Foreman for the Cunningham Ranch, and finally Shop Foreman for the Atwater Elementary School District. Upon retirement, Randy became a firefighter and first responder, eventually being promoted to Captain of the Mano Station under Chief Ron Creek. Ron saw potential in Randy as a leader, and sent him to Missouri Firefighting Academy, as well as training to become a Firefighter Educator. Thanks to Randy's calm leadership, lives and structures were saved in the Eagle Rock, Golden and Mano region. His wife was Lauri. Research Note: He was the son of B. A. and Irma C. (Rohn) Henry. He grew up in that area, graduating form Midway High School in 1953. He left the family farm to attend Springfield College of Commerce, also taking classes from Draughan's Business College. After graduating from business school, Jack discovered that railroad executives had male secretaries because of travel requirements. He went to work for the Frisco Railroad as a private secretary. In 1958 Jack began working for Marathon Oil in Chickasaw, Oklahoma, as a production accountant. In November 1963, on the day President Kennedy was buried, he moved back to Monett to work with John Jarvis at Jarvis Tax Service, planning to work for Mr. Jarvis during tax season and farm the remainder of the year. Mr. Jarvis passed away in December of that year and Jack continued to run the business for Mrs. Jarvis for five years. In 1968 Jack went to work for G and R Machine Works in Purdy as the controller. In 1974 he became operations manager at Gillioz Bank in Monett. This was at the time when banks were being automated and software packages did exist, but none of them were great. Jack had convinced management of the bank to buy a computer and software, which did not work very well. He has always jokingly said he knew he either had to confess to the board that he had made a dreadful mistake with that software or write something on his own. He quickly learned the RPG cycle and with a vast understanding of numbers and banking he began writing a package for the bank. It worked, the bank was happy, and Jack retained the license to the software package. The Gillioz Bank sold to United Missouri Bank and Jack decided that it was time for him to go. He had befriended Jerry Hall, the only other computer guru in town and together they started a business plan on paper napkins as they traveled back and forth to Springfield where they were taking classes, and Jack Henry and Associates grew out of that. Henry and Hall worked extremely hard and could not have been as successful as they were, one without the other. They remained very close friends and partners today. Jack Henry and Associates was incorporated in 1977 and the rest is history. They bought a plane, Jack became a pilot, having flown for G and R. and enhanced and developed the software, sold it and installed it for a while. They quit several times over coffee after a long night, but always bounced back, determined to make it work. It did work, and along with the help of several young people who worked extremely hard, it grew into a very successful company. The company is a $2.2 billion dollar, publicly traded, operation today, with approximately 3,500 employees nationwide. Jack was semi-retired at his death, remaining as executive vice president and vice chairman of the board. He was very happy to leave the day-to-day operations of the company to the younger generation, as he said. He and Jerry both remained involved from a distance. Jack is survived by his wife, Brenda, and cherished puppy "Keeks" of the home. A private funeral service is being held for the immediate family. During World War II, he served his country in the United States Navy. He was an engineer for Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas and had worked in Kansas City, Missouri, for ten years with Boeing as a Customer Service Representative for TWA. In 1975, he and Jo Ann purchased "Lakeview Trading Post" at Eagle Rock, which they operated for several years. After selling the business, they returned to Wichita where he continued to work with Boeing Aircraft until his retirement in 1989. Upon retirement, they returned to Eagle Rock to enjoy boating, crafting and living on the lake. Norman was an avid golfer in his early years and very involved in the Eagle Rock-Golden-Mano Fire Department, as well as, a member of the Eagle Rock Community Association. Before becoming a member of All Faith United Methodist Church, Eagle Rock, which he was one of the founding members, he was active for many years in the Episcopal Church. Research Note: Monett, Barry Co., MO resident. He was the son of the late James and Louise Hoare. During his childhood, Jack helped his father in building caskets, as his father was a carpenter. Jack also would, on occasion, be asked to assist on funerals. Some of his other childhood jobs included being a golf caddy and a hotel bellboy. At 15, he went into the British Army as a Boy Soldier. He ultimately served his country for eight years including during World War II, fighting on the beaches of Normandy on D-Day. After Jack's military career, he moved to California where he became a business owner as he operated his own auto repair shop. Jack was a very accomplished mechanic, as he had also worked for Carroll Shelby and the Shelby American Race Team. He was one of the lead engine mechanics, which in 1965, the Cobra won the world championship at Le Mans. Later in his life, Jack moved to Las Vegas where he had ran a facility that mined minerals. Over thirty years ago, Jack met Connie Jacques at a party that was hosted by a mutual friend in California. That was the beginning of a long-lasting wonderful relationship. During this union, Jack took to the Jacques Family as his own. Jack was preceded in death by two sons, Robert and David Hoare; four sisters, Lily, Pat, Winnie and Connie; and two brothers, Donald and Horace. In the last 14+ years he has defied those odds with pure orneriness and stubbornness. In addition to his parents, Dickie was preceded in death by four brothers, Doug Hollis, Bill Underwood, Jake Underwood, and Clyde Underwood; three sisters, Beverly Horton, Bessie Squires, and Opal Jeffries and a special sister-in-law, Kathy Curry. After his first stroke in 2007, his wife served as his 24/7 caretaker where Dickie always came first. Dickie's final wishes focused on making "Life without Dickie" as stress-free as possible for his wife who embodied her commitment to him in sickness and in health. He requested to be cremated and for his ashes to be buried with Glenda at her time of passing. He wanted their lives to be remembered together, not apart. The youngest of six girls, she was raised by her father, after the untimely death of her mother. On November 20, 1937 she was united in marriage to Charles Hubert in Tijuana, Mexico. Mrs. Hubert was a very dedicated military wife while her husband was serving our country in the United States Navy. They were stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii during the attack on Pearl Harbor. After Charles retired from the Navy, he and Marjourie made the Ozarks their home near Berryville, Arkansas,as well as Washburn, Missouri. After the death of her husband, she moved to Cassville, Missouri. Mrs. Hubert was a volunteer with the Red Cross in Cassville, a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 4205, and attended North Point Church in Cassville. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Charles Hubert; and five sisters, Peggy Haver, Frances Jungers, Evelyn Stokes, Gertrude Tickle, and Helen Justus. At Marjourie's request, no services will be held. A private family Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 20, 2013. On March 8, 2002 in Fayetteville, Arkansas he was united in marriage to Rebecca Poland, who preceded him in death on March 16, 2008. Also preceding him in death was his father. Bradley grew up and attended school in northwest Arkansas graduating from Fayetteville High School West in Fayetteville, Arkansas. After graduating he began welding, got married and started his family. After his wife passed away, he moved to Seligman with his daughter. - A Seligman man died on Friday following a wreck reported at 9:30 a.m. on Route F, six miles southeast of Cassville. According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Hufford was driving a 2008 Dodge Caliber eastbound when his vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a rock bluff, causing the vehicle to overturn. Hufford was pronounced dead by Dr. Lewis at Mercy Hospital at 11:13 a.m. Hew was transported to Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. The exact time of the crash is unknown. Preceding her in death was her mother, Debra Jo "DJ" Hurley. Michelle grew up and received her education in Louisiana where she graduated from high school. She had resided in Rogers, Arkansas for a year before moving to Cassville to make her home. She was a member of Lighthouse Pentecostal Church in Eagle Rock, Missouri. Research Note: He was the son of Finn and Mildred Irene Huseby. He attended several elementary schools in Paseo High School in Kansas City, and received his high school diploma while serving in the U. S. Army during World War II. He served in the European Theatre with the 81st Combat Engineering Battalion, and upon discharge was awarded three Bronze Stars. On June 29, 1938, he married his childhood sweetheart Herma Jane Knight in Bonner Springs, KS. Bob retired in 1977 from a 30-year career at the General Motors Assembly Plant in Fairfax, KS., where in 1952 he was a member of the employee team that sat at tabled and negotiated the first collective bargaining agreement between GM management and employees. He was a member of the Tri-Lakes General Motors Retirees Club in Springfield, MO, and the Kansas City Area General Motors Retirees Club. In 1956, Bob and Jane moved their family to rural Bonner Springs, KS, where they engaged in farming and became active in the Bonner Springs RLDS Church, the Linwood Lions Club, the Olathe Grange and the Heartland Antique Automobile Club. Bob and Jane retired to rural Monett, MO, in 1986, where they immediately became active in the Community of Christ Church of Aurora. Bob was past president of the Fairview Antique Automobile Club and the Freistatt Lions Club, and was a member of the Model T Club of Springfield. As active members of American Lion Post 0419 and its Auxiliary, Bob and Jane accepted the solemn responsibility of placing flags on all veterans' graves at the Freistatt cemetery on holidays and veterans' commemoration days, and they continued this obligation for 18 years. Bob and Jane Huseby shared a life-long interest in antique automobiles, and Bob was highly respected for his craftsmanship on detailed restoration projects. After 67 years of companionship, Jane preceded Bob in death on September 6, 2005. In accordance with their generous attitudes, both Bob and Jane donated their entire bodies to the University of Missouri Hospital at Columbia, MO, for research purposes. | Monett Times Phyllis Long |

He retired in 1983 as a sporting goods buyer at Kunkels Sporting Goods in Davenport and moved to Shell Knob. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Shell Knob. He married Bonnie Carolyn Tonn on October 14, 1942. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. Research Note: He was the son of Jack and Francis (Rokusek) Huspek. He married Mildred "Millie" Brent on May 27, 1950, in Chicago, Illinois, and she preceded him in death February 25, 2005. He was also preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Charles Huspek and one sister, Elsie Huspek. He as most people knew him was a Veteran of World War II. He was a patrol officer with the Berwyn Police Dept until he retired in 1974. Prior to moving to Cassville, Gene and Millie liked to travel. He and Millie moved to a farm outside of Cassville and purchased Hilltop Liquor. Research Note: Shell Knob resident. He was a son of Caleb Earl and Audie Christine (Medlock) Hutchason. On Nov. 5, 1969, in St. Louis County, he was united in marriage to Deborah Rosazala Hiatt. He attended elementary school in St. Louis and graduated from Richland High School and Florissant Valley Community College. He was a quality insurance director and performed all the testing for rocket launchers for the Harvard Interiors in St. Louis. After his retirement he lived in Branson West, and moved to Shell Knob in 2005. His body was cremated under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob.
