He was granted a pension of $6.00 for month from Nov 29, 1899 to April 1, 1893 from April 1st 1903 to Feb 13, 1907, he was granted $8.00 per month. Under the act of Feb 6, 1907, he will get a still higher rate. - May 22, 1909, Cassville Democrat - James Williams of Ozark township, died May 1st of paralysis, age 73 years. Stone matches the one for Henery Williams. - Pearly was actually spelled Perley and was a male not a female. He was the 3rd child (2nd son) of John Isaac and Mittie Lavenia (Eaton) Williams. The stone was placed in the 1970's by his sister, Lavenia (Williams) McBroom. The history written by E. Derl Williams, published in 1991 gives his DOB as Apr. 5, 1893 near Madry and died when he was about 2-3 months old and buried beside his brother, Henry. Henry's DOB was given as Dec. 1, 1891 in McMinn Co., TN and died abt. 1892 near Madry. He came by train with his mother from TN and died just a few months later. Headstone

Husband of Lola Fern Mullen. - September 1, 1917, Cassville Democrat - Wendell Williams, 13 year old son of E. W. Williams, took advantage of his father's absence on the 14th, and ran away from home. His mother started him to school in the morning but instead of going, went to the road, disposed of his straw hat and pencil by the side of the road and wrote on the hat, "Good bye all. I will write." He then went to Joplin where he remained two days when he concluded he would be needed at home and started back. He got as far as Pierce City, where he was apprehended by the marshal and held until his father's arrival. Headstone

Rex lived in the Barry-Lawrence County communities his entire life and was a 1947 graduate of Verona High School. He was a U. S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict, was a dairy and beef farmer. On June 7, 1956, he married Anita Weddington of Monett, in Miami, Oklahoma. During and after high school, Rex was involved in amateur boxing, even achieving the notorious "Golden Gloves" title. He entered the Army in June of 1951, and his boxing career ended when he was shot during his service term.
