Inscription: "PVT CO H 15 - REGT MO CAV. CIVIL WAR" - Research Note: Son of Hugh L. Wilson and Maranda Clark. His wife was Betsey Catherine Wilson, died in 1942, and is buried in Chelsea Cemetery, Chelsea, Rogers Co., OK. - Cassville Republican, Sept. 24, 1903 - The death angel entered the home of Thomas Wilson Monday, Sept. 7, and claimed him after ten days of suffering. The remains were interred in the Wilson Cemetery. Funeral services were conducted by A. J. Henson. Mr. Wilson was born May 1845, was married to Catherine Rogers Aug. 17, 1873. To them were born ten children, seven of whom are living. He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Missionary Baptist church for 33 years and lived a faithful Christian life. By the death of Mr. Wilson, the church looses an active member, his home a devoted husband and loving father, the county one who was a brave soldier in the struggle of 1860-65. - 1880 Census, Mineral Spring, Barry, Missouri - Thomas C. Wilson, head, age 34, house carpenter, had sore eyes, born TN, parents born TN; Catherine, wife, age 29, born AR, parents born TN; Amma, age 6, daughter, born MO. - 1890 Vet. Census, Hailey, Barry Co., MO - Pvt., Co. H, 15th MO Cav., enlisted on July 15, 1864, discharged July 1, 1865, served 11 months and 27 days. Chronic diarrhea. Injury to eyes result of measles. - Application for Military Headstone: Applicant was Joel A. Wilson of RR 2, Galena, MO, son, applied on May 2, 1961.
