She managed a restaurant in Decatur, AR, for several years and was a linen department manager for a store in Bella Vista, AR. Graveside services were November 2, at Chitwood Cemetery in Wheaton with Brother Steve Higgs officiating under the direction of McQueen Funeral Home of Wheaton. Obit

Research Note: John B. Packwood married Mary S. McCary on Dec. 11, 1879 in Barry Co., MO. She was a daughter of Benjamin Franklin and Tennessee Salvina (Peevy) McCary. Probably buried here. Son of John Ira Packwood and Jane Malissa Stamps. - January 7, 1915, Cassville Republican - Dead: John B. Packwood, a highly respected citizen of Shoal Creek, died at his home Monday, Dec. 28, 1914, age 60 years, 3 months, and 21 days. His death was due to complication of diseases. For the past four years he had been in very poor health. His untimely departure was not unexpected by his relatives and friends. The deceased was born in this county on Shoal Creek September 6, 1854. He had lived in that vicinity all his life. In 1874 he was married to Mary McCary, daughter of Ben McCary at Washburn. To them were born nine children seven of whom are living. They are Mrs. Weaver and Samuel Packwood of Shoal Creek, Mrs. John Puett (Prewitt) of Idaho, Mrs. Finis Puett (Prewitt) of near Wheaton, Mrs. Lon Garrison, near Purdy, Hunter and Credie at home. Funeral services were held at the home Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock in charge of Rev. Dabbs of Rocky Comfort. He married Abigail Tinder on September 2, 1832 in Jackson County, Indiana. They were the parents of ten children: Margaret "Peggy" Packwood b. 28 Apr. 1832; Orpha Packwood b. Friday April 25, in South Barry County Hospital at Cassville, were held at 2 P.M. Monday at the Ridgley Baptist church with Rev. Paul Watson officiating. Burial was in the Chitwood Cemetery south of Wheaton under direction of the McQueen Funeral Home of Wheaton. A lifelong resident of Barry County, Mrs. Prewitt was a member of the Ridgley Baptist Church. Her husband, Finis, preceded her in death. He leaves father, mother, grandfather, grandmother and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his departure. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Chas. Probate was in Ozark, MO, July 27th, 1867. Received of the estate of Alvore Davidson, deceased, distributive share of Letsey Davidson, minor heir of Levi Davidson Decd. Public Admr. of Christian Co., MO, having in charge said estate. Litsey Herald, and listed Jessey Herald as her husband. By George A. Dabb, Atty in fact. Second husband was Alexander M. Roberts per the 1880 census and obituary. - Wheaton Journal, November 28, 1929 - Mrs. A.M. Roberts dies at Rocky Comfort: Mrs. A. M. Roberts, 89 years old died last Thursday at the home of her son James Harrell at Rocky Comfort after a short illness. Funeral services were held at the Rocky Comfort Baptist Church of which she had been a member since childhood and burial made in the Chitwood Cemetery. Mrs. Roberts has lived in Rocky Comfort practically all of her life and was held in the highest esteem. She is survived by three sons, James Harrell of Rocky Comfort, Charles Roberts of Kansas City and a daughter, Mrs. Allison Woolsey of Joplin. Death Certificate
