Research Note: Louie R. Withers was conscripted for service in the Canadian Army and examined at Calgary, Alberta and given the regimental number, 3212483. He gave his father Thomas Withers of Golden City, MO as next of kin. Louie gave his address as Kleskun Hill, Alberta.
Louie was in Lawrence County, MO for the 1900 and 1910 census. A L. Withers crossed the border into Canada at North Portal, Saskatchewan on Feb. 14, 1914 and gave that he was from Golden City, MO on his way to Edmonton, Alberta The 1916 census of Canada's Prairie Provinces finds Louis with his older brother Lawrence Withers and an address of Grande Prairie, Alberta. The 1921 census still finds him at Grande Prairie.
