Withers crossed the border into Canada at North Portal, Saskatchewan on Feb. 14, 1914 and gave that he was from Golden City, MO on his way to Edmonton, Alberta The 1916 census of Canada's Prairie Provinces finds Louis with his older brother Lawrence Withers and an address of Grande Prairie, Alberta.
