Barry Birth & Death Record

County Clerks were required to register births and deaths from July 1, 1883 until this requirement was repealed in 1893. Not all all doctors and midwives complied with the 1883-1893 act so few records of that time period exist today. Only a few records exist for the years 1886-1888 and there may not be any for the years of 1889-1909.

The present law requires a birth or death to be registered. This became a law in 1910 and so all records are sent to the Missouri Bureau of Vital Records.
