Research Note | Linda said that she bought this photo postcard because it has a Cassville 1908 canceled mark on the back. She said that she looked at it for several months unable to decide if was Cassville, or not. Linda later found out that this scene is in Cotter, Arkansas.
The sign on the store reads: "W. J. Metcalf General Store" The sign on the side of the building left of the awning reads, "Brown's Shoes". The message on the back reads, "This is what we use to deliver with. This is true to life. More outfits of this kind used than any other. Signature looks like it could be "W. M.". |
