BRYANT, Charles D., was born in 1839, Bangor, Maine. He was a blacksmith by trade and came to Wabasha County, Guilford Township about 1860. In 1866 he married Mary Frances Oliver, the third daughter of Orris and Martha Oliver, early settlers in Guilford. Charles and Mary had the following children: Charles A. born 1867; George L. born 1870 and Carrie F. born 1875. Mary Frances died before 1879, most likely from childbirth and is buried in Guilford Township. Charles, married for the second time, Mary Stephenson of Rochester, MN and then moved to Spring Valley, WI. Children born of this union were: Ralph born 1883, Della born 1887, Rae born 1889, John born 1891 and Richard born 1896. Carrie F. Bryant married Frank Parady in Menomonie, WI in 1892 and resided in Rock Elm, Pierce County, WI. The son, Charles A. Bryant married Jane Brittell on June 30, 1892 and resided in Rock Elm, WI. Charles D. Bryant was a Civil War Veteran and he is buried in Poplar Hill Cemetery, Rock Elm, WI. He died November 4, 1917.

BUNN, I.M., farmer, sec. 10, Mazeppa. Born in PA in 1816. Married Cinthia Criley in 1843. She was born in PA in 1825. Left PA in 1854, landing at Red Wing on May 17, 1854. Settled on his present estate same season and has experienced all the hardships of early pioneer life, and are among those of the early settlers of this town and county. Owns 160 acres. Anna M, Frank, Sarah, Robert, Samuel, Douglass, McClellan, Thomas, Harry and Clara are their living children. Lost four children -- William D. Charles E., Samuel P. and Eunice.

BUMP, Orson, farmer, sec. 24, P.O. Mazeppa. Born in NY state in 1814. Emigrated to Pennsylvania with parents, where he married Catherine Ross. She was born in PA in 1814. Moved to Illinois in 1835. Came to Wisconsin in 1840 where he lived until 1856. Came to this county and settled on his present estate of 160 acres; has since made it his home. Is one of the early settlers of the town. Of their several children two are living -- Mary J and Jennette. John T., who enlisted in 1861 in the 3rd Minn. V.I. company K and served eight months, died at Murfreesboro from disease contracted in the army. Annie and Annis, twins, are also deceased. Last named married F. B. Young, who died August 1878 leaving six children - Owen, Joseph, Annie, Almeda, Allie and Alfac.
