KROGEN; I should appreciate if someone could do some lookups for me on the
Krogen family from Vinger parish in Norway, that lived in Stevens County. I
can help with information about Vinger parish in Norway.
I will give you some more information if someone is willing to help.
I'm searching for any information about the KROGEN brothers who emigrated from
Vinger parish in Norway to Minnesota more than hundred years ago. I know that
MENTS KROGEN, born September 20, 1874 died 1963 in Minnesota lived in Morris,
Stevens County. He was married to OLANDA KROGEN. His brother OLE KROGEN, born
April 10, 1872 was married to THEA KROGEN. The third brother was THORVALD KROGEN,
born November 23, 1869. I don't know the name of his wife, but he had four children,
Otto, Emmi, Gunda and Anni. The KROGEN brothers were cousins to my father and
I hope to find some second cousins "over there".

JOHANNA ANDERSON; Trying to find a death record for a KNUDSEN descendant I'm
following. Difficult to write to vital records when you have no idea when she
died! Johanna or Hannah KNUDSEN was born in Story City, Iowa around 1874, and

obit in 1922, so must be alive after that.

I am searching for information about two families EYSTAD/JOHNSON, who
lived in Morris Minnesota in the 1930's as my father-in-law stayed on the EYSTAD
farm a few times in the summer. His aunt's name was Lena EYSTAD and he remembers
that his two cousin's names were Axel and Swarie (probably a nickname?). He
also had a Aunt there name Lena JOHNSON. Both of these ladies are the sister
of Severin JOHNSON who occasionally lived in the area too because their daughter
Alice was born in Morris 1898. I wrote to all the EYSTAD'S currently listed
in the phone book, but as usual, got no response to any of my letters. I wouldn't
think that was that common of a name that one of those people weren't related
and would write back, but who knows? I have not yet been to the National Archives
in Seattle to lookup the Minnesota census for 1900, 1910 or 1920 but plan to
in the next month. If you have the census for those years would appreciate a
look up for EYSTAD, JOHNSON. I am sorry I do not know the names of their husbands.
If their names pop right out I would appreciate knowing something about them.
If I could get any info about them then maybe I can get find an obituary or
something that will tell me about their children and have someone I could write
to for family information. Oh yes, Severin JOHNSON is on the Washington State
census for those years. Thank you for any help. If you know of anyone in Morris,
I would be happy to contact that person personally. Again, thanks so much for
any help.

I was looking for Mrs. B. DAGENDORFER (b: 1820's-1830's), sister to Henry BOHMBACH,
in Morris circa 1920. I have found Margaret DEGENDORFER/DECKENDORFER as early
as 1880 and as late as 1920 in Morris and Scott Twp, but she was a widow. Census
says she was born Apr 1840 and had ten children, though five were living in
1900. In 1880 they were Morris age 18, Frederick age 15, Emma age 13, Bertha
age 9, Johnny age 7, Robert age 5, and Lewis age 3. Morris thru Emma born in
Minnesota, and the rest born in Iowa. I lost track of Morris
and Emma. Fred married Ernestine by 1895 and was missing by the 1910 census.
Bertha apparently married a Mr. Lois but was widowed with three children by
1895. John was farming with his brothers in the 1895 census, but I lost him
after that. Robert married Maggie and had seven children in Morris in 1920.
Lewis/Louis married Carrie and had four children in 1920. Margaret was living
with Louis' family in 1920. I assume Margaret was the sister to Henry
BOHMBACH (d: 1917), Louis BOHMBACH, Anna VOLLMERS, Mary HOLST, and Anna SIEBRASSE
in Goodhue County. There was a John and Katharine BOHMBACH living in Morris
by about 1889. Katherine had died by 1910. John was living with his daughter,
Anna GIESEKE (her second marriage). John and Katherine used to live in Goodhue
County. I have always hoped he was another brother. I would be very thankful
to hear from anyone that knows anything about these people.

I am looking for information about Knute and Isabella (ERICKSON) TORGERSON who
came to Hancock around 1880 from Wisconsin. Knute was born in 1850 in Odda,
Norway. I would like to know about Isabella's birth date. I think she was born
in Wisconsin. Her parents are Ole ERICKSON and Anna Tomina PEDERSDTR. I would
like to know where they came from in Norway-I'm assuming they came from Norway.
Their daughter Edna married Olaf Belgum in Nov. 9, 1898- in Hancock, I believe.
They are my father's parents- moved to Elbow Lake.
