Ludvig Peterson died on March 28, 1928, of pneumonia and pleurisy; he had not been in the best of health for some time. Christine then moved to a small home that her son, Herman, had built near the bigger Lancaster farm house. Walter now resided in this farm house. She kept house for Herman for a number of years. When she was unable to care for herself any longer, Nellie (Mrs. Olaf Westberg) took her mother to stay at her home in Hallock. On October 10, 1953 she died at the age of 94 and 1/2 years. (94 years, 7 months, 23 days).
