Edward Moberg

Edward "Eddie" F. Moberg, 96, Grand Rapids and formerly of Hallock died Friday, April 2 at the Itasca Medical Center in Grand Rapids.

He was born Dec. 8, 1902 at Clinton where he grew up and attended school. He was married to Eda Seidl Jan. 29, 1923 at Graceville.

Mr. Moberg lived at Kennedy where he managed the "Kennedy Mercantile" store. He then moved to Hallock where he managed the Sterling Store for many years.

Following his retirement from the store, he sold clothing to Post Office employees in the area. For the past five years he had been living in Grand Rapids. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Loyal Order of Moose and the Lions Club all of Hallock.

He is survived by a daughter, Judy Moberg, Brainerd; a sister, Mildred Shelver, Sun City, Ariz.; two brothers, Iver and Frank Mober, Clinton; one granddaughter and one great-granddaugther.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eda; his parents, John and Amanda (Anderson) Moberg; a daughter, Bonnie Hall; and six brothers.

A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, 1999 at Greenwood Cemetery at Hallock. Rev. Fr. Timothy T. Noah will officiate. Arrangements are with Rowe Funeral Home, Grand Rapids.
