Red River Valley Historical Essays
Students of the Humboldt School wrote essays in the years 1968 through 1975 about the Red River Valley. The essays contain much valuable information about the early pioneers and other historical subjects of the Red River Valley. The subject of each essay was personally researched by the student writer who read articles on the history of the area, interviewed people, wrote letters and made telephone calls. The essays are entered exactly as written by the students except for an infrequent spelling or typographical correction and the insertion of an occasional webpage link for individuals or families from our main webpage.
Original copies of the essays were collected and organized by Marva Diamond Hanson, Bea Bahr and Dennis Matthews. Hard copies of the essays were presented as a set of two large notebooks to the Kittson County Historical Museum and to the Hallock Libary for reference material.
