Glen C. Beck
Glen C. Beck, 87, Lancaster, died at the Kittson Memorial Healthcare Center in Hallock, Friday, Jan. 7, 2000.
He was born in Georgeville, MN, April 19, 1912, the son of Cyrus and Kristine (Homan) Beck.
His family moved to Tenstrike, MN, near Bemidji, and when Glen was in the second grade they moved to the Lancaster area.
Oct. 1, 1932, he was united in marriage to Anna Sophie Hostrup at Lancaster.
The couple farmed in the Lancaster area until 1985, when they retired and moved into town.
Glen was a former board member of the Kittson County Farm Bureau, St. Joseph Township Board, and the South St. Joseph School Board.
Family survivors include his wife, Sophie; son, Duane (Nancy) Beck, Hanover, MN: daughters, Ruby Pietz, New Haven, MI, Grace (John) McDonough, Warren, Dale (Jerome) Potucek, Warren, Betty (Claus) Weleski, Lancaster, Maxine (Ronald) Empson, Craig, CO, Lynn (Mike) Sydow, Wausau, WI, and Lorna Johnson, Lancaster; 39 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; brother, Charles (Ruth) Beck, Minneapolis, and sister, Dora (Homer) Ward, Boise, ID.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Doris Karol and Joyce Bernstrom; two grandchildren; four sisters, Marguerite, Vina, Pearl and Ruby; four brothers, Roland, Guy, Jack and Bertie; and three sons-in-law.
Memorial services were held Jan. 11, at the Lancaster Covenant Church. Rev. Timothy Lundeen presided.
Hugh Funeral Home of Hallock was in charge of arrangements.
