Lydia Babcock

Palo, Minn.- Lydia M. Babcock, 88, Palo, died Sunday, July 28, 2002 in the White Community Hospital, Palo.

Lydia was born Dec. 11, 1913 in Middle River to Hilmer and Pearl (Simmons) Moberg. She attended country school and later married Lloyd Babcock May 9, 1937 in Humboldt.

Along with being a homemaker, she and her husband farmed for many years in the Humboldt area until moving to Palo in 1964.

She is survived by her sons: Lynn (Beth) Babcock and Ralph (Mary) Babcock both of Palo; sisters: Joyce Ness of Montgomery, Ala. and Olive Lunke, Thief River Falls; aunt: Ethel Simmons, Roseau; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband: Lloyd; daughter: Kay; sisters: Bertha, Florence and Dolores; brothers: George, Walter, Gerald and Clifford; great-grandchild: Rachel.

Services were held 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, 2002, in Palo Congregational Church in Palo. Burial was in the White Township Cemetery in Palo. Rev. John Baker officiated.

Memorials are preferred to the East Range Hospice.
