Sorum Cemetery
Section 17, Badger Township, Polk County, MN
Sorum Church closed on January 3, 1912
This cemetery is sometimes referred to as the Wold Cemetery in old obituaries.
Sorum Synod Congregation was organized in 1885 by O.T. Wold, Ole Dovery, P.N.
Sevelrud and Hans O. Lee who served as trustees. This congregation held their
meetings in the schoolhouse in Sec. 8. In 1909 most of the families moved to
Canada and the congregation was left with only four families. These four were
Henry Anderson, Ole Dovery, O.T. Wold and Hans O. Lee. The church closed in
January of 1912.
Thankyou to Ann who first walked and transcribed this cemetery July 2002, then revisited it and updated the cemetery listing in Sept 2003

The USGenWeb Project
will not tolerate any copyright violations. Lookup requests from copyrighted books should be limited to one name, or perhaps two if it is a married couple. Information given should be minimal, for example:If it is a cemetery lookup, the information should be the name of the cemetery and the dates on the headstone.
If someone asks for "everybody with X surname" or an entire family group, or for hardcopies to be mailed, please advise that The USGenWeb Project volunteers have been asked not to comply with such requests.
Lookups can extend to searching the copyrighted material to determine if the material would be helpful to the requester in their research. Should the copyrighted material prove useful, the volunteer can provide the author's address and ordering information.
Cemetery listings and pictures may be posted to the site if the cemetery was walked and transcribed by the submitter. The submitters name, address and date obtained will be made available to the County Coordinator BEFORE it is posted.
The USGenWeb Project will endeavor to get a WRITTEN statement from each copyright holder which stipulates which books may be used for lookups.
