These maps are from the 1899 paper, Indian Land Cessions in the United States. It was complied by Charles C. Royce. The paper appeared in the 18th Annual Report of the Bureau of American Ethnology, to the Secretary of the Smithsonian Institution, 1896-97, by J. W. Powell, Director - In Two Parts - Part 2. Printed in Washington, by the Government Printing Office, 1899.

   268 - Ojibwa cession of 1847. Land was ceded to create a reservation for the Winnebago from Wisconsin. Winnebago later ceded this land in 1855 when they were moved to southern Minnesota.

269 - Ojibwa cession of 1847. Land was ceded to create a reservation for the Menominee from Wisconsin. They never moved there and the land was permanently ceded in 1855.
