Mrs. Frank Mose, 90 Years Old, Dies at Eyota

Eyota- Mrs. Frank Mose, who celebrated her ninetieth birth anniversary here July 23, died at 3:35 a.m. today at the home of her nephew G.H. [George] Willis.

Mrs. Mose was born July 23, 1852 at Huntsburg Ohio, and came to this area in 1856 with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Smith. The family made the journey in a covered wagon with a span of horses, one of which had to be replaced.

The family settled in Viola Township near here. In 1858 her father was elected the fist constable of Springfield Township, which he helped organize. He was influential in changing the township's name to Eyota, an Indian word meaning superior.

She married Frank Mose in Rochester on October 20, 1872. The couple celebrated their golden anniversary in 1922. Mr. Mose died in 1926. Funeral services will be held at the United Brethren church at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Rev. Walden officiating. C.W. Rendernick, funeral director will arrive at the church at 12:30 p.m.
