In 1925 a Miss HORGAN of the Cutie Beauty shop was at the Park Hotel.  Appointments were to be made after 8:30 a.m. each Tuesday and the shop remained open until 9:00 p.m.  Marcels were 75 cents.  Many a young lady today has never seen a Marcel iron that beauty operators used in the 1920’s.

In 1929 the Violet beauty operator from Windom came to the Hotel for a week.  Appointments could be made on Monday.

In 1932 we had our first resident operator, Mrs. Bernadine SCHUERKAMP, who had her office in the back part of the SLIVER Lunch building.

In 1939 Miss Dorothy TIBODEAU, who was located at Stordan two years previously, located in the BECKER Building.  Evelyn JOHNSON took her place in 1940, while Dorothy went on vacation.

In 1943 Rosella ULFERT’S shop opened at BECKER’S Store, known as Rosella’s Beauty Salon, her slogan, “If your hair isn’t becoming to you, you should be coming to me.”

In 1945 Marie HART ran the shop during Rosella’s absence.  Later Rosella (then Mrs. Pedro MOORE) closed her shop to go to the West Coast to be with her husband.  When she returned she opened a Beauty Shop over Oliver’s Red Owl store using the side entrance.

In 1947 Rosella sold her shop to Lillian VOSS of Sioux Valley known as “Lil’s Beauty Salon.”

In 1947 Dorothy COTTER (TIBODEAU) opened a shop in her home by appointment only.  In 1949 Dorothy won first prize for hair styling at the convention in St. Paul.  Her model was Muriel HAROK of Worthington.  She won a Chicago trip with her expert and original designing.  She is still operating her shop in 1958.

This year (1958) Mrs. Lois HABERMAN opened a Beauty Shop in her home south-east of Brewster.  Lois was employed before her marriage at Worthington.
