CENSUS

Chippewa County, Minnesota was established, in1862, and organized, in 1868, from a portion of Renville County.  In 1870, a portion of northern Chippewa County was taken to form Swift County.

Pulaski Township was organized, in 1899, from a portion of Ripley Township.

Rail Prairie Township was organized 8 Jan 1890.  On 31 Dec 2002, Rail Prairie Township ceased to exist; it became part of Scandia Valley Township.

§  RICHARDSON TOWNSHIP - Township 42 N, Range 28 W

Richardson Township was organized, 7 Jan 1903, from a portion of Ripley Township.

Ripley Township was created in 1856, and it was set to be included in the military reservation of Fort Ripley.

Rosing Township was organized, on 7 Jul 1902, from a portion of Motley Township.  The original name was Crow Wing Township, but on 1 Sep 1902, it was changed to Rosing.

Scandia Valley Township was organized, in 1893, from a portion of Motley Township.  On 31 Dec 2002, Rail Prairie Township ceased to exist; it became part of Scandia Valley Township.
