Obituary - 1903

James Holte

James N. Holte died at his home in the town of London, Freeborn County, Minn., on the 5th day of March. His death was caused by cancer of the stomach, from which he suffered three months or more. Deceased was born in Norway on the 3rd day of January 1856. He came to this country in 1881 and in 1883 was married to Mary Swanson, who with four children, still lives to mourn the loss of a loving husband and a dear father. The children are John, Aetna, N. D., Mrs. A. Hauge of Austin, Mrs. S. Haldorson and Nora who still remains at home, and one adopted son, Martin Holte. He also leaves five brothers, Jugebrigt, Ole, and John of Norway and Sivert and Nils in this country, and one sister, Mrs. John Moen, of this vicinity. Interment was made at the Oakland Lutheran church, Rev. J. Ellertson presiding.
