WALTER FREDERICK WEIS, 81, of Windom, died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2001; born on Jan. 14, 1920, he was the son of Nicolas and Marie Ring Weis. He married Betty Kadus Sept. 26, 1944; survived his wife; one son, Dean Weis, Windom, three daughters, Joan (Tom) Klett, White Bear Lake, Barbara Wise, Aurora, Colo., Nancy (Clint) Rose, South St. Paul; two sisters, Lillian Norstegard, Westbrook, Evelyn Atkins (Eddie), Walnut Grove; and five grandchildren; burial in the Westbrook Cemetery (abstract Worthington Daily Globe)

EDGAR WINTER, 86, formerly of Westbrook, died Monday, Nov. 4, 2002, in Weslaco, Texas; born Jan. 3, 1916, in Sheldon, Iowa, the son of Peter and Anna Meyners Winter; married Avanelle Fritts June 10, 1944, in Sheldon; survuved by his wife, of Weslaco, Texas; four sons, Verne Jay (Bonnie) of Rockford, Ill., Dean Lee (Deloris) of Westbrook, Dale Brian, McAllen, Texas, Kent Douglas (Deb) of Sioux Falls, S.D.; one sister, Lois Roggen of Peoria, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; burial in Westbrook Cemetery (abstract Worthington Daily Globe)
