LUCILLE ETHEL KARSCHNIK, 93, of Mountain Lake, died Saturday, Nov. 9, 2002; born April 11, 1909, in Marathon, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur and Stella Lawson Olson; married Carl Karschnik Nov. 22, 1928; he died Nov. 8, 1983; survived by three daughters, Louise (Donald) Quiring, Norma (Arnold) Quiring, both of Mountain Lake, Betty (Stanley) Hotzler, Worthington; two brothers, Donald Olson, Rasmus Olson, both of Spencer, Iowa; five sisters, Winona (Harold) Recker, Okoboji, Iowa, Dorothy Nielsen, Ruth Roskins, both of Spencer, Gwen (Bob) Klinefelter, Peterson, Iowa, and Leatha (Don) Wolcott, Gillet Grove, Iowa; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; burial in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, rural Alpha. BERTHA KLAASSEN, 95, of Mountain Lake, died Monday, Dec. 16, 2002; born Dec. 24, 1906 on a farm northeast of Delft, she was the daughter of Abram and Elizabeth (Loewen) Wiebe; married Henry Klaassen Sept. 6, 1932; he died Dec. 9, 1983; survived by two children, Bernice (John), North Newton, Kan., and Eldon (Mary) Klaassen, Wichita, Kan.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; burial in Mountain Lake Cemetery (abstract Worthington Daily Globe)

Elizabeth Knudson died Friday, December 24, 2004; born in Mountain Lake, MN, on November 10, 1913, the daughter of Peter and Helena Derksen; married Emerald Knudson of rural Westbrook in 1944, and he passed away in 1959; survived by sons, Robert (Sharon) of St. Paul, and Jon (Sheila) of Rosemount. Daughters, Marilyn (Keith) Carey of Westbrook, and Elizabeth (Seth) Schmidt of Tracy. 10 grandchildren; an uncle, Ted Buhr of Brooklyn Park, sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Derksen of Hunting Beach, CA, Betty Derksen of Dinuba, CA and Evelyn Madson of Westbrook, and son-in-law, David Baune of Minneota; preceded in death by her husband Emerald, her parents, Peter and Helena, two brothers, Albert and Louis, a nephew, Peter Derksen, and her daughter, Janice (Baune); burial in the Westbrook Cemetery (abstract Westbrook Sentinel-Tribune)
