LEON R. IHRKE, 86, of Windom, died Wednesday Aug. 29, 2001; born June 10, 1915 in Windom, he was the son of Alfred and Frances Sykora Ihrke. He married Florence "Pete" Kalash, on Nov. 7, 1938; survived by his wife; one son, Ronald (Donna) Ihrke, Redwood Falls; three daughters, Judy (Jerry) Cooper, Dallas, Texas, Jane (Jim) Miller, Dakota Dunes, S.D., and Carol Ihrke, Blair, Neb.; one brother, Mike Ihrke, Windom; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren; burial in the Memory Gardens Cemetery, Windom (abstract Worthington Daily Globe)

WOODROW "WOODY" M. JOHNSON, 88, of Windom, died Friday, Nov. 22, 2002; born March 11, 1914, in rural Cottonwood County, the son of Christian K and Gertrude K. Lehnoff Johnson; married Donnabell Parker Stahl Dec. 23, 1947, in Sioux Falls, S.D.; survived by his wife; one son, Chris K. (Donna) Johnson, Windom; one stepson, Robert Stahl, Windom; one stepdaughter, Roxanne (Jack) Potter, Windom; one brother, George (Beverly) Johnson, Walker; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; burial in Amo Cemetery, rural Cottonwood County (abstract Worthington Daily Globe)

FREDERICK JUHNKE

Fredrick Juhnke, whose death occurred at the home of his son, Ed Juhnke, in Germantown Friday afternoon last, was born in Germany on April 17, 1836, and was eighty-two years old.

He came to America in 1870 and to Cottonwood County in 1872, where he remained until the time of this death. He was married to Gustine Badar, whose passing on occurred thriteen years ago last November.

Thirteen children were born unto them, ten of whom are living. They are William, Emil, Herman, Ed, Mrs. Aug. Wegner, Mrs. Ben Stocker, Carl of Oregon, Fred of Waseca, Mrs. Ed Werner of Kenyon, and Mrs. Flora Drebloe of Faribault.

The funeral was held from the Junke home at one o'clock and from the Zion church in Germantown at two, the Rev. F. A. Frase officiating, and Rev. Mad Wordleman and Rev. J. Gongoll, assisting in the services.

AMANDA ANNA MARIE JUNKER, 86, of Comfrey, died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002; born Aug. 29, 1916 in Jackson County, the daughter of Henry and Rosina Mekosch Brandt; married Gustav J. Junker on Feb. 28, 1934 at Salem Lutheran Church parsonage in Comfrey; he died on Sept. 13, 1996; survived by one son, Gary (Jo Ann) Junker, Comfrey; two daughters, LaVonne (Grafton) Pauls, Dayville, Ore., Irene (Don) Kessler, Bellvue, Wash.; one brother, Edwin (Martha) Brandt, Mountain Lake; one sister, Evelyn LaVasseur, International Falls; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; burial in Mountain Lake Cemetery. Margaret Mae Junker, 91, of Mt. Lake died Dec. 20, 1999; the daughter of Harm and Anna (Harms) Korfe, was born Aug. 7, 1908, at George, Iowa; in 1930, she married Ben F. Junker; he died in 1995; preceded in death by her husband, an infant son, LeRoy; and two brothers, Raymond and Wesley Korfe; survived by two daughters, Evelyn (James) Adams of Coon Rapids; and Lois (Bruce) Geske of Fridley; four sons, Fred (Joan) Junker of Mt. Lake; Harvey (Beverly) Junker of Denton, Texas; Raymond (Shirley) Junker of Keller, Texas; and Wayne (Anne) Junker of Redwood Falls; a brother, Vernon (Joan) Junker of Redwood Falls; 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; six sisters, Jean Bolstad, Ann Russel and Theresa Riffle, all of Windom; Luella (Leonard) Pankratz and Sylvia (Franklin) Selvey, all of Staples; and Irene (Eldon) Cole of Des Moines, Iowa; burial in the Delft Cemetery (astract Mountain Lake Observer-Advocate)
