Dr. Michael Schreverski, First Doctor in Pine River 
The countryside welcomed Dr. Michael Schreverski as he opened his medical 
practice in Pine River in the spring of 1901. The waiting room swelled with 
patients each morning beginning at 6 AM, and Dr. Mike would not close his doors 
until all had been seen. This meant sometimes he worked until 8 or 9 at night, 
only to be called out to delivery a baby or visit lumber camp patients 
thereafter. 
He and his wife Lilly were a favorite couple among the townsfolk, and can always 
be counted on to help out with any worthwhile endeavor.  They and their four 
lovely children, Micheal III, Oscar, Helene and little Julius are loved by all.
