The Carver County Historical Society had closed fall of 1997 to do some remodeling.  In late December they had their county inspection and were allowed to reopen their doors.  Currently their hours are extremely limited, but they hope to have a Grand Opening on May 9th, complete with some absolutely wonderful exhibits on the second floor.  They will expand their hours considerably once all of the reconstruction work is done.

On their old letter head and publications you will see the address:

119 Cherry Street Waconia, MN 55387

Their new address is:

555 West First Street Waconia, MN 55387

Phone is (612) 442-4234

The Executive Director is Leanne Brown

This is the same building that they were in before, but the entrance has been moved around the corner to the other street.  Now the entrance is on the lower level, with the library, and the new exhibits are on the upper level. It is all handicap accessible - they have an elevator to get to the second floor.
